It’s not just a pretty picture, it ties in with the programs, works really well for cover layout, and evokes the feel of the best ‘80s computer mags

Cover art for my type-in magazine is DONE and looks amazing, hopefully will be particularly exciting for the 3 contributors who coded programs referenced in it

Lush has a Scooby-Doo tie-in range, and they've really missed the opportunity to have a bath bomb shaped like a ghost which fizzes away to reveal a normal man inside.

My 15yo child, unexpectedly: “Yeah, I have at least 3 LinkedIn accounts. All fake. I use them to check on my teachers’ qualifications. I keep getting job offers because I ticked something that said I used to work in middle management for Asda.”

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Tomorrow I'll do another pass on the code to adjust formatting, improve clarity & reduce typing, then I'll check I've not broken anything & test browser support

OK, rough layout draft done in under a day
Wanted to check the 10 programs would fit nicely, with a bit of squeezing, column fudging & code reformatting I’ve got the right page count
Most programs use 1-2 pages, longest needs 6

Yeah, all the stuff containing the word “free” makes me think all the apps will be free but integrated with Canva, so it’ll nag you to create an account, push features like cloud storage, templates, etc etc

Been using Affinity Publisher to put together my magazine and really liking it so far, haven’t had to look anything up even though I’m dealing with bleed, page numbers, columns, flowing text across boxes, etc

Feels like it’s grown so much & people are so much bolder about it, 10 years ago there was one local bloke who’d go on about free energy & UFOs, now it’s everywhere (including in my family, ugh)

Yesterday’s latest Chat With Stranger Taking A Scary Turn Into Conspiracytown: someone with a friendly dog who said they’d rejected chemotherapy for it because she’d rejected chemo herself and was still alive, leading into even wackier stuff

You know I said that being sincere into a camera isn’t my comfort zone?

Turns out spending slightly too long editing most of the fuck ups into a blooper reel is:
