As a fashion historian, I will die on this hill: the point of having blue hair and nose rings (or spiky nails or stripper heels or tattoos or an all-black wardrobe) is not to look pretty or cool. a) stop putting jared leto in things

b) sequels and reboots are dangerous because of the strong temptation to lean on nostalgia and reverence as a substitute to figuring out a reason for the audience to care about your story
