Thankfully, some of yesterday's CDC firings have been rescinded.

But this should be a major scandal, not business as usual in this shitshow of an administration. It's either spectacular incompetence or an effort to make even politically untouchable positions feel precarious to those in them.

100s of #CDC employees were notified Friday they were being fired — RIF'd. The firings cross multiple parts of the agency, endangering its core mission of keeping Americans safe.

I also hope it holds. And the IOF treating a ceasefire start time as a deadline by which to slaughter as many people as possible is not new. But I still hold hope that it will hold, and the IOF will allow food, water, and medicine in. And cynicism is well-earned

Meanwhile, in even mainstream news… while there’s a “ceasefire,” it’s unclear if the IOF will cease… firing… wtaf. And I read the IOF bombed a family’s home in Gaza City. 4 were confirmed killed. 7 hospitalized. Nearly 40 are still buried under the rubble

How so? “Free speech zones” have always been a fundamentally anti-democratic concept, but GWB escalated the use of them notably. Now, Pritzker, for all his merits, is using them to repress protest against the illegal & violent actions of ICE in Illinois, even as he opposes the NG doing the same
