Saw a weird tweet earlier that used Bad Company as an example of the sort of band that serious-minded rock fans were expected to like before the internet exposed them to more diverse stuff around the globe. This is not my understanding of the place Bad Company holds in rock history
I can imagine the results being really disappointing. Taking the spot from ...Baby One More Time – Fancy by Iggy Azalea has shot to the top!

A little advice from your old pals in Perennial:
when jumping off of something while playing guitar, be very sure of your landing spot
Dislocated my shoulder & broke a finger lol
Fascinating topic:
Wish I'd seen this video from a Scientology insider, who confirms that, despite the obfuscation and spin from the Church, Hubbard was in fact dead-ity dead for years rather than communicating with Winter via mailed tapes as per the press notes

Someone in the church: "How would LRH have phrased the need for a strong lead, in the bottom register of the horn section?..."

RIP the greatest.
Torn up hearing about the passing of Drew Struzan. He's had such an influence on my art and imagination since I was a kid. No one's ever done it better.

Don't blame poptimism for Taylor. The OG poptimists were mostly into Timbaland and Girls Aloud. Kaiju-era Taylor is the result of the take industrial complex recruiting only people who were not really music critics but loved gossiping about celebs and pop culture feminism on Twitter
Tbh, I don't get why you'd take a deal on giving a major pop star your song as a startpoint, and then grouse about its massive success ever-after?
(This is obviously not a bad thing when reading for pleasure, but a school semester and its deadlines are another matter.)
If your first exposure to a time and place is through its writing, you're taking on double duty when looking at what's good about the writing and discovering what it's talking about at the same time. I can see that stifling the appreciation of either, for a teen.
So sad that you can’t annotate books or anything (also you don’t need to understand absolutely everything in a story to enjoy or get value from it)

Most "classics" are boring as fuck to a modern reader in no small part because the context of the story is not understood by them and so many of the allusions and "inside jokes" known to then-contemporary readers have been lost in time and in translation

Porn addiction, and the article that shuts it down, add up to such stupid discourse. Because taking in erotica is a hobby like any other. And by that same attribute, there isn't a hobby that *no-one* out there is mentally ill about doing. I've spoken about this in more detail, but that sums it up.

Hello @theguardian.com - any chance you could remove the banner from my face?
They couldn't get the projector working, so after forty minutes we went to the pub.

I love it when I am doing cool stuff and people say things about my age or my wrinkles or otherwise point out that I am not 23 years old because that confirms that we need more people who aren’t 23 years old doing cool stuff
Under the Floor Again is probably my favourite Damned song.

This is true more often than people think it is, but unfortunately the bad music CAN disprove certain interpretations of the good music. Usually it's trivial stuff like "it disproves that they are a perfect genius" but sometimes it can disprove things like "they aren't a cynical jerk"
Also a good artist’s bad music does not speak ill of their good music by existing
