Not only have we not attained endemicity for SARS-CoV-2, we have destroyed endemicity for many other viral and bacterial infections like tuberculosis, polio, & staph-A. It's just not the case specifically because of immune system damage from covid. libguides.mskcc.org/CovidImpacts...

“For many years now, eCommerce shopping experiences have consisted of a search bar and a long list of item responses. That is about to change,” Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said in a statement.

Republican Rep. Cory Mills allegedly threatened to release nude images of a 26-year-old woman and to harm her future boyfriends after she ended their relationship.

Now, a judge just ordered Mills, 45, not to come within 500 feet of the defendant & ruled that she is “a victim of dating violence.”
Judge grants ex-girlfriend restraining order against Rep. Cory Mills
A Florida judge said Rep. Cory Mills had cyberstalked an ex-girlfriend and barred the lawmaker from going near her residence or workplace or referencing her on social media.

A lot of inquiries I get are people presenting things that democrats did and saying “are they fighting now??”

The answer is always no.

there was a very sad, very cynical harlan ellison story about a couple who could live forever in a moment frozen in time as long as they never talked to each other. Now we might have the singular version of that particular torment nexus.

the more I read about the promises OpenAI has made, the more disgusted I am. They've promised to deploy 10GW of Broadcom chips *by the end of 2029*, a chip that has yet to tape out, in data centers yet to be planned or funded or the power acquired. We are in a black hole of ethics and good sense.

2. This means even 18-year-olds—legal adults—will be impacted by the restrictions. Those under the cut-off will no longer be able to access these evidence-based best practices in care for transgender young people

I was on the board of Fenway and I warned the then CEO in 2023 that this would happen. This was cowardly capitulation sacrificing trans youth.

1. In a major capitulation to Trump, Fenway Health, a center ostensibly dedicated to LGBTQ+ healthcare, has ended its trans care program under 19.

It could have fought for its patients. It chose instead to roll over.

Community members are devastated.

"So what do you suggest we do to fight Trump?"

Find people in your community who need help, and help them. We all have skills. Maybe it's giving rides to people who don't have cars. Maybe it's going to the grocery store so your immigrant or racialized neighbors don't have to when ICE is around.

my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

( I also like this creator a lot his book is out and he speaks to this . I recommend it especially since it’s just Neo fact we need white e people to explain this for folks for folks to respect it)

For those still bewildered that anyone could still have a Twitter account, this is one of many reasons why I can never leave football Twitter. It's the closest thing to real global news available.
A screenshot of a tweet from @leylahamed that reads:

Israel’s anthem was drowned in boos during their qualifier against Italy, even as many fans boycotted the match. The sound was so overwhelming that organisers blasted the music louder to mask it.

this is not true? the public was broadly supportive of the BLM protests bsky.app/profile/cycl...
cyclesixmile.bsky.social
I tend to agree but also during protests in 2020 there were many videos of police brutalizing people and some of the general public actually thought that was a good thing and wanted to see the police do more brutalizing. Hopefully that was just a fringe.

one response to this (correct) observation is to say “well, the cops will attack you no matter how you dress and behave.” that’s right. images of cops and ICE beating grandmas and kids in inflatable frog costumes is a win for the opposition.
sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com
one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--

MAGA Rage at “No Kings” Boils Over—and It Quickly Backfires on Trump
As Trump allies smear the coming protests, a good writer on MAGA skewers the absurdity of these attacks on large swaths of Americans—and explains why our best recourse will be to turn out in force.
