Their stories are mostly excluded & forgotten except from those who were there.

I dont believe in gatekeeping information

Per the Constitution, THE USA IS NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION. SCOTUS changing laws to pacify far right Christians is a violation of their oath to "support and defend the Constitution." The 14th Amendment ensures all citizens equal protection & due process under the law. That includes marriage rights.

42 years ago today, President Satan.....I mean "Reagan" (Freudian slip) signed the King Holiday bill into law, designating the 3rd Monday in January to be MLK Jr Day.

it was introduced 4 years after his assassination by Rep John Conyers, and over the next 15 was spearheaded by Mrs King and others

President Reagan signing the King Holiday bill legislation into law on November 2, 1983, surrounded by the likes of Mrs Coretta Scott King, Vice president George Bush Sr, and most importantly Indiana Representative Katie Hall (to the right of Mrs King) who authored and sponsored the bill that was eventually signed into law

A federal judge in Washington issued a permanent injunction blocking the Trump administration from enforcing a rule that would have required proof of citizenship on federal voter registration forms. The requirement stemmed from an executive order Trump signed in March.

On October 30th, a majority of Saeima deputies voted for Latvia to leave the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention and Suppression of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, commonly known as the Istanbul Convention.
After a marathon day of debates lasting more than 13 hours deputies voted to quit the international treaty by 56 votes to 32, with 2 abstentions.

Last week, after lengthy debates, the Saeima supported withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention in its first reading. With 52 votes in favour, it was supported by the opposition parties – the United List, National Alliance, For Stability! and Latvia First – together with a coalition party, the Greens and Farmers Union, and several non-aligned MPs.

Before the second reading, there was time to submit proposals to the draft law. However, on Wednesday, 29 October, at the meeting of the responsible committee, all proposals were declined, and several participating NGOs were not even given the floor.
