Okay. I have read all of Mercy Thompson. I have read the spin off Charles and Anna series. I have read all of Ilona Andrews’s books.

I need another series. #booksky

Reminder that Violent J of Insane Clown Posse has the correct response to a lot of the shitty things he said in the early days.

I don't need a bottle of BPAL Apocalyptic Dragonbarf. But being able to tell people "Oh yes, my perfume is Apocalyptic Dragonbarf" is tempting.

"What are you wearing?"
"Subtext by Calvin Klein. What about you?"
"Apocalyptic Dragonbarf."

What Gareth said.

NOTHING sells books better than the enthusiasm of a friend or someone whose opinion you trust who has read it.

(Which is not to say that publishers should rely on it.)
Word of mouth is important to a book's success. So, if you'd like to see the authors who wrote your favourite stories commissioned to write more, please keep talking about all the #books you love.

I see a lot of artists on here questioning whether they should be promoting their work in the current political climate.

The answer is always yes. ART: books, music, film, painting, sculpture - all of it - is the most accessible way to communicate complex topics, ideologies and emotions.

Disney was never gonna “learn” from Andor. They just wanted some old Star Wars fans’ dollars and new to Star Wars progressive people’s dollars. That’s all that happened.

Dan Gilroy et. al. are good artists; Andor is good art. Disney, owner of ABC, is a bad conglomorate. Two things are true.
Disney learned nothing from Andor.
According to Facebook memory calculations, I have written 18 books in 9 years.

i remember crying in joy when i got my first covid vaccine. what a miracle that we got something so effective so quickly. what an incredible feat.
I also raised my prices and had a decrease in sales but my total profit went up so…
Anyways my net writing income each month is paying my car payment and my utilities.
I know it’s the subject of ~ discourse ~ on social media right now, but I like posting my writing income info. It helped me decide to self publish, because I saw that it was achievable and not pie in the sky

I also know that sometimes numbers by themselves are intimidating and difficult to grasp

I forgot where I was going with this, except that ART apparently has no concept of fairness, or minimum level of response, because the sense of ART’s almost full attention was overwhelming.

This! Seeing others be happy has helped keep me going in recent months.
Yes actually now is a great time to share good news

Now is a great time to celebrate the good news of strangers

To be the kind of people who are happy for other people to have good things happen to them

Yes indeed

Congrats to Lisa Murkowski on voting for a bill that she herself admitted was not ready in hopes that the House would change it. Now it’ll become law. She had the power to stop it, and instead chose to become complicit. That’s her legacy.
So we’ve narrowed it down to the fact that I almost certainly developed another food intolerance/sensitivity sometime in the next year.

Ugh. Another elimination diet is coming my way

I gotta say I find a lot of AI discourse around higher ed very confusing. "if ChatGPT can write your essays is college even worth it?" did people think math teachers were assigning problem sets because *they* couldn't figure out the answers?

I am begging authors to stop policing reviewers. Naming and shaming a reader for saying ‘DNF for this reason’ is childish. Asking for a DNF review to be taken down is ridiculous. It’s someone reaction, not a critical analysis. Nor are you owed a review on a 1⭐️ or 2⭐️ rating.

Listen. The only way you can become a good writer is by being a shitty writer and doing it anyways. You can’t magically become a good writer by having a machine do some of the work for you. That just makes you a fraud.
