The Po Valley desperately trying to solve its air quality problem with one more seasonal temporary restriction of more polluting vehicles.

"I swear, bro, one more Thursday with no Euro <5 vehicles between 8 am and 9 pm will fix it!"

There is a website tracking Urban Access Regulations across European countries and I guess we have a winner for the country with the most Urban access regulations...

Currently on a flight to Japan watching a Pentagon Assistant Press Secretary (Riley Podleski) work on a document in the open on her laptop. She spent the last hour copy and pasting headlines from articles critical of the Administration’s hostility toward the 1st amendment.

Notably, at the turn of the *20th* century, battery-powered cars were seen as a “women’s” car. Real men drove cars that belched and smoked and required physical strength to crank start!

As EVs have become more mainstream and affordable, the gender gap has shrunk. A decade ago, men outnumbered women among EV buyers 3 to 1. Now, the ratio is 2 to 1.

I don't think I've seen a network TV news report more transparently full of shit since maybe 2003, right before we invaded Iraq

The Democratic establishment will certainly give this scrappy progressive upstart a hard-fought battle. You know who else would do that? Every Republican for the rest of his career.

My personal opinion is that you shouldn't get credit for winning elections until you actually do.

"We have a rising new Dem star who really engages with people, and is sure to win their next election."

DEM LEADERSHIP: That's fantastic.

"What are the next steps?"

DEM LEADERSHIP: Simple. Force them to step aside and throw their support behind this 80-year-old lifetime politician.

The answer for Democrats is to not apologize, not back down, and confidently own what you said.

Every time a Democrat gets caught on tape saying like “Some Trump voters are racist” we have a national scandal and JD Vance demands an entirely new kind of apology and meanwhile every Republican group chat is like “Good morning fellow SS members. Who’s ready to respect Hitler today?”

For those tempted to say Young Republicans have always been this way, they really have not. When I worked on campus and did bipartisan college events after, they were very much not like this.

That’s why groups like YCT and eventually TPUSA formed — because Young Republicans weren’t radical enough.

I seem to recall that it was the biggest 1st Amendment attack in American history when the Biden admin alerted social media companies to some content and said "hey does this violate your policies?" Will Matt Taibbi, Michael Shellenberger and (lol) CBS News Editor in Chief Bari Weiss call this out?
Tweet from Pam Bondi:

Today following outreach from
@thejusticedept
, Facebook removed a large group page that was being used to dox and target
@ICEgov
 agents in Chicago.

The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement.

More from today's initial light rail vehicle roll down the Southwest LRT route. Construction began in 2018 and Metro Transit says passengers will ride in 2027. Over the Kenilworth Channel, leaving W Lake St Station, arriving at W 21st St Station, exiting the Kenilworth tunnel.

Remember when Stephen Miller claimed the Chicago apartment raid was on a building “filled with Tren de Aragua terrorists”?

Well, DHS has now dropped the number of alleged TdA members arrested in the building from 2 to 1.
Just one "verified" Tren de Aragua member and one U.S. citizen with an active warrant were among the 37, DHS said, without saying how it had verified that gang affiliation. Others taken that day, the agency said, were "illegal aliens."

Hey news people: I know you like to pretend this doesn't exist, but you need to pay attention to the Nazi drama on Twitter. Basically, it seems as if Elon just restored two major neo-Nazi accounts that were banned by his product head, and might be about to fire the product head for banning them

a popular X "transit researcher" has completely misread and misrepresented simple statistics and has claimed that 17%+ of transit riders in germany are fare evading. because that is the percent of people who have evaded, not the evasion rate.

When I lived in the Bay Area, the biggest value difference I noticed was how much less accepted it was to be visibly stressed. There was a California cool you were never expected to break. Combine it with Silicon Valley grindset culture and it can be quite lonely and isolating.

These fare increases sound substantial, but not when you realize this is the first increase since 2018.

Refusing to raise fares sufficiently to keep up with inflation is a backdoor transit cut: nothing equitable about defunding transit.

CTA proposes fare hikes as it stares down budget gap
If the fare hikes of 25 cents per ride are approved by the agency’s board, it will be the first time the CTA has raised ticket prices since 2018.
