Majority of people who commute into NY from NJ do so by bus via the Lincoln Tunnel. Please don’t forget about these people @kim.senate.gov @mikiesherrill.bsky.social

Lincoln Tunnel bus service has a bigger impact than the Raritan Valley line.

Here are the buses with yearly ridership over 1m.

Here are the ridership numbers for the Newark bus network, the frequent network and other lines that also includes Elizabeth FY24 vs FY25

The 24, which runs between Newark & Elizabeth, has seen a dramatic increase in ridership. The 62 Newark Airport bus is seeing a decline.

Glad to see a pro-fight caucus emerging in the Senate. Let’s boost their ranks with some 2026 primary victories!
A group of influential liberal senators is directly challenging Senator Chuck Schumer’s approach to the midterm elections and President Trump, in another sign of growing frustration among Democrats toward the minority leader.

The implications of this are simple. Affordable housing isn’t free. Any commitment to inclusionary zoning that isn’t also a commitment to a robust gap financing program is a de facto tax on housing.

All of the pink areas are lots with nothing but a single-family home (and probably the world's best access to transit, jobs, and greenspace).

Democrats previously didn’t talk like this in New Jersey. I’m so excited for the change this portends.

The truly wild thing is this isn’t even true, a shit-ton of their oil reserves on paper are heavy tar sands and every US oil company will take one look at that at $80/bbl and walk away because it isn’t close to economically viable.

This new data on tax base fragmentation shows massive disparities within Hudson County. You can see why:

1. Hoboken can afford so many fancy public works projects and Jersey City can’t.

2. Why Brian Stack bringing home state aid for North Hudson gives him so much power.

Emmanuel, a 15-year-old with intellectual disabilities, wandered away from his mom’s fruit stand in October.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

Watching outsiders melt down at the stupidity of Bergen County’a strictest-in-the-U.S. blue laws is making my afternoon.
So getting a lot of questions about this, basically, Bergen County is one of the last counties in the United States that has a Sunday closing law which bans the sale of electronics, clothes, etc., but it does not apply to groceries, so Costco is open, but any non-groceries look like this:

And the 85, 86, and 125 seeing declining ridership.

JC is an amazing city on the rise due to NYC Nimby's pushing growth across the river. Journal Square is booming with many new skyscrapers rising around the PATH station. I like that the transit commute rate exactly matches households without cars. This area also has a large Asian Indian population

Obviously, we want more immigrants, it’s one of our founding principals, but we also don’t want things to happen that will set support for more immigration back in the long term

All that said, Twitter only allows editing in the 1st hour, so not easily done.
