“Fairies Wear Boots” is such a great Black Sabbath song.
It swings like jazz. Bill Ward’s drumming is absolutely thunder.
Ozzy’s vocals are wonderfully piercing.
And then the last minute or so invents the thing that Metallica made an entire career out of

Just heard it for the first time in a while

I have so much material written for a new album, and I’m kind of terrified to try to record this one myself 🤣

But I can’t currently afford the assistance I used to get with recording.
I have to start trying to fumble my way through the process.

It was loud.

If you want to live under a king, you ultimately wish to be a slave to that person’s commands.

If you want to live under a democracy, you wish to be free to do anything that’s allowed under the law.

The people who want authoritarianism don’t feel confident enough to live with real freedom.

Every employee gets a free 🥧 today!

And I got my annual gift card from the union today for being the shop steward.

Pretty good haul.

The answer to any question that starts with “Should we act morally towards,” is always “Yes!”
It can appear absurd to speak of friendship with animals, let alone trees. But is it so strange? Empedocles argued that our circle of belonging doesn’t stop with humans. Animals, plants, even trees are our kin, and so treating them well isn’t optional, but a moral obligation
Should we act morally towards trees? Empedocles says yes | Aeon Essays
Who belongs to our moral community? The Greek philosopher Empedocles had an answer: all life, from humans to the laurel bush

There is NO FUCKING EXCUSE for this to be happening.

I had a baby die in my arms of pertussis some fifty years ago. It was a HORRIBLE death. But my fellow nurses said to me, "It's almost stamped out now, they're all getting the shots, we won't be seeing this again."

HOW THE FUCK ARE WE HERE. 😡
A third infant has died in Kentucky, KYDPH adds:

“These are Kentucky’s first pertussis deaths since 2018. None of the infants nor their mothers received the recommended pertussis vaccinations during pregnancy or early infancy.”

I've mentioned that my youngest son survived a school shooting. Yesterday, he couldn't go to class at CSUN because there was a shooting threat. It's the second one. Isn't this shit getting old?

I wish they'd take their gun love and move to Russia.

I know nothing about football.
I never liked it and I barely understand the rules because I have no interest in it.
Yet there are people who should know this by now who still insist on trying to talk to me about whatever the fuck happened in this week’s games!

Today I woke up thinking about one of the most extraordinary things anyone ever did for me.
Something I didn’t fully appreciate until many years later when I considered the way it had to have happened.
Maybe I’ll tell the story here later if I can find the time and patience to type a long thread.

This is who she was.
Passionate in her beliefs. Fiercely loyal to her friends. Never afraid to let you know exactly where she stood. The best.

Fun Fact: I remember arguing with her over which of us hated Piggy the most. I was sure I did. She disagreed. It remains unresolved...

He told ChatGPT he was suicidal. It helped with his plan, family says.
