the dog #GhostTrick #lineless
digital lineless art of Missile the Pomeranian dog from Ghost Trick. He's on all fours and looking up with a smile.

He's very fluffy and wagging his tail a bit. The background is dark blue. End description.

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

This would single-handedly transform the lives of everyone I know in such profound ways it is difficult to fully articulate, but it would also let us actually make more and different and crazy things

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

Every developer should read this. Print it out. Put it under your pillow. Put a little sugar on it and have it with your breakfast. Make it part of you.

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU FOLKS WAITING FOR, GET A TRANS FURRY TECH NERD TO TEACH YOU HOW TO MAKE A PERSONAL SITE, SUMMON THEM VIA PENTAGRAM RITUAL IF YOU HAVE TO
aceraccoon.neocities.org
(those updates can include art btw and the only outside influence that can tell you otherwise is your host provider afaik and even that can be bypassed by hosting all this crap yourself somehow, ask a trans furry tech nerd and they'll gladly show you the ropes with absolute enthusiasm)
aceraccoon.neocities.org
all that being said even though i won't shove the Fediverse down people's throats (tho i will nudge @ap.brid.gy for selfish reasons) i will always encourage people to make their own sites and use tech that not only still works but can be fun too

again RSS feeds are updates straight to your computer
aceraccoon.neocities.org
or maybe i'm just lucky because a lot of the issues people seem to speak about the Fediverse as a whole... i've never encountered, but considering how the site works (Discord but social media with cross compatibility between servers) i'm not surprised people had less than stellar first impressions
aceraccoon.neocities.org
even so if i by some point end up dipping from here before the site dies for any reason, i can at least get RSS feeds from the people i do care about

that's one cool thing Bluesky has to offer, individual user updates without opening the site, all the art can come straight to my computer forever
aceraccoon.neocities.org
"i'd never go back to Mastodon tho lol" 🗿👍 /gen

look not every site or platform is designed for everyone, if it doesn't work for you then it just doesn't work and that's okay it's something we really shouldn't fight over, as much as it sucks that i won't see as much of my mutuals or fav artists
aceraccoon.neocities.org
i may be in the minority here, but i really do want a tool for Fedi folks to find any Bluesky folks who may either have a Fediverse account or bridged themselves

cause i've genuinely found more reason to post on there than on here though moreso for personal reasons rather than what's going on here

This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.
