I have a feeling I know where you're going with this and I heartily think you should.

Although you could always shift your focus to another condiment...

Keeping us in endless suspense about the possibility of his facial hair.

Goddamn them.

I literally have no option but to understand Japanese characters or to look up online in order to know who this guy we're supposed to be getting introduced to is. His intro plaque is on-screen for a whole 7 seconds and not one subtitle for it. Thank you, Crunchyroll.
A screenshot of Maxim from the anime Pass The Monster Meat, Milady. There is introductory signage for the character in the bottom right entirely in Japanese with no provided English translation. The character's speaking text is subtitled: "Isn't that right, Aristide?"

But they TOTALLY fixed all the "internal system problems"! They said as much! Surely Crunchyroll wouldn't LIE to us?

Turns out all he needed to do was NOT work with his hack of a dad and play psychos instead of heartthrobs!

I think what makes this film so chilling is how sparse it is. There's none of the usual moralizing of this era about The State of the Youth Today. There's no explanation for why Charlie Tibbs is this way - he just IS, a feral dog of a man lashing out at anyone who crosses his path.

What I don't recommend is watching the colorized version of The Sadist on Tubi. Not sure if it's AI-based or not, but it's weird, warbling, and ugly. Thankfully, there are better quality uploads on YT in its original B&W.

Who would have guessed that the pinch-faced crooning dweeb from fucking Eegah could sincerely sell himself as a legitimately frightening, amoral killer? Or that he's the reason that they hired a future Oscar-winning cinematographer to shoot this film?

The Sadist is a tale of three teachers held hostage in a junkyard by a teenage spree killer on the run. I wasn't expecting much from this one, but holy shit this is one of the most tense films I've ever seen in my life. #horrormeganthon

Look on the bright side: regardless of anything else that you've been through, you've probably never *legally* lost a rap beef

Has anyone tested out the (new) Crunchyroll Manga reader? Was curious, but doesn't look like I can check it out without putting up more money immediately.

Or at the very least set a higher standard for streaming subtitled material so that your competitors have to up THEIR game to meet your level! Make them insecure!

Of course it doesn't work when your higher-ups are ex-Netflix people who just want to turn their site into Netflix But Just For Anime.

It was an absolutely arresting experience, one that reminded me strongly of later works of his like The Fly and Dead Ringers, the films that drew me to his work in the first place.

It's also a film I first learned about in this book back in college and have wanted to see ever since.
The Naked And The Undead: Evil And The Appeal Of Horror
Horror is often dismissed as mass art of lowbrow entertainment that produced only shirt-term thrills. Horror films can be bloody, gory and disturbing, so some people argue that they have bad moral eff...

There's so much you can read into its gender politics and how abuse and trauma can echo through multiple generations of family, topics far beyond the grasp of a mere BS thread, but it's also just refined in a way that his earlier films were not, in both tone and acting quality.

But i guarantee you he picked Greenwood entirely because the only song of his he knows is "God Bless the USA," and that's all shitheads like him want to hear: empty-headed, major key jingoism.

I think somebody else already tried to push that whiny little shitface Jason Aldean.

The Brood was David Cronenberg's way of working through some of his feelings during a divorce, and while that much is obvious (for good and for ill), it's also the earliest film of his I've seen that FEELS like one of his classic films, moreso than its predecessor Rabid. #horrormeganthon

So foisting some one-hit wonder country singer, a man performing at county-fair level venues, on a national stage like the Superbowl when you could have a rising rap star like Bad Bunny is fucking LAUGHABLE.

Unless of course, you're a racist with no fucking taste like Mike Johnson and his ilk.
