I actually think it would be better off American parties had dues and chapters where your voice can be heard something other than every four years. The decisions are still getting made, they're just getting made by lobbyists and activists.

Harris was border czar for four years and didn't do that, but sure, if you want to believe that Harris would have been exactly the same as Trump then yes, by definition, she would be the same as Trump.

Not even the actual candidates DSA puts forwards believe this. If you asked Mamdani or AOC whether they believe Jeffries is the same as Johnson they would obviously say no, and not for kayfabe reasons. They would say it because they have eyes.

This is something you could believe if you weren't, say, one of several tens of thousands of people who are being brutalized in concentration camps, or starving to death overseas, or being denied medical care, or really anything Republicans have ever done.
