That's the same phenomenon I've noticed in my neighborhood in a ruby red county. When your whole worldview is a conspiracy theory then anything that's incongruent to that gets rationalized as being part of that conspiracy.

I think part of it is the Epstein stuff. Yeah your base level MAGA/grifter will pivot to whatever the party line is, but the real ride-or-die Q people will not and they're the kind of person you want to watch your backs around because they're genuinely unhinged.
