The local LGBT events venue was attacked last night. Someone put bricks through the windows. It had been reported in the Bolton News the week before as a 'sex club'. It is an events venue that groups can hire for parties. Our safe space for local trans people seems to be too much for some awful ppl.

My lifeline was my husband and our children who accepted Alice’s transition without hesitation and came out fighting for her anytime I voiced one of my ‘reasonable concerns’ - it was so sudden, where’d it come from, she’s always online, what if she changes her mind?

I do have to point out that even with a more-accepting society, there is a gulf between "I am okay with queers" and "I am okay with my kid being a queer". People can support LGBT rights in the abstract and then get spooked when their own precious cinnamon roll makes them a "non-traditional family".

My kid was subject to lesbophobic abuse in primary school because of having two mums. The school wouldn't even educate the kids at the school doing the bullying that it's okay to have two mums or that lesbian isn't a bad word.
They told the kids off for saying lesbian implying it *was* a bad thing.

As I posted the comic the obvious dawned on me.
With all the wide implementations AI, how do we still not have automatic alt-text? This is something AI models are excellent at, but I guess as it help a minority, no one cares to solve "that" problem.
