If your main goal is to line your pockets and maintain false narrative, logic goes right out the door.
The war will end when Russia stops fighting. Therefore, pressure has to be put on Russia, so that they stop believing that they will win. Why is that so hard to understand?

It is all such a farce. There will be no peace plan. Putin will never agree to one that doesn't give Russia everything, and that will be unacceptable to Ukraine and Europe. Stop this bullshit and give Ukraine what it needs to defeat Russia and end this once and for all.

More of this, please.
💬 "If we want to prevent this war to continue then actually we should curb the army of Russia and also their military budget," says EU top diplomat Kaja Kallas.

That's all of Ukraine not currently occupied. That would give Russia all of Ukraine.
Putin told reporters that the fighting will end when Ukrainian forces withdraw from the territories they currently hold.

Streets were nearly deserted on Thursday in the capital of Guinea-Bissau, with the announcement of election results thwarted by the military seizing power, arresting the president and closing the borders of the coup-prone west African country ➡️ u.afp.com/ShPR

Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War believe that a Russian victory is not inevitable. The actual pace of the occupying forces’ advance shows that a rapid capture of the entire Donetsk region is unlikely, despite the Kremlin’s claims.

Several regions of Russia have suspended payments to families of those killed in the war against Ukraine⤵️.

“NATO was built to fight only one war: to save free Europe from Russian aggression. Ukraine is the only country fighting this war — and we’re still discussing, ‘Should we include them or not?’ Ukraine is the only country fulfilling NATO’s destiny!”

Can't thank Mr. Kasparov enough for these words 🙏

Yes, russia is indeed rapidly rebuilding its missile arsenal. The problem is that the "solution" being offered — pausing the war & restoring economic ties with russia, giving it back most of frozen assets, lifting sanctions, rewarding for war crimes — will only accelerate that buildup.

Four years Ukraine is fighting for the whole Europe.
NATO was built to fight only one war, not to go to Afghanistan, not to go to Syria. One war to save free Europe from Russian aggression.

Remember: The recipe for economic growth isn’t tax cuts for the rich. It’s investment in our people — in health care, infrastructure and education — to build a strong middle class.

You don't grow the economy through trickle-down nonsense.

Being among the first interrogated and ultimately fired by DOGE, I certainly felt we were facing the business end of a right-wing conspiracy theory 🧵
DOGE was not a money-saving effort. It was an effort to chase down and prove right-wing conspiracy theories. They went after USAID to prove conspiracy theories about foreign aid. Then they went after SSA to, again, pursue conspiracy theories about Dems paying "illegals" to vote. 1/2
All DOGE accomplished was purging critical government staff, handing private data to outsiders, and sentencing thousands in developing countries to death by gutting USAID.

I don’t say this lightly: if there were any justice in this world, the people responsible for this devastation would be in jail

Don’t forget that *Trump’s own lawyer’s argument* to the Supreme Court in the immunity case was that the check on the President using his immunity to order criminal acts was that those under him would not follow illegal orders. Now it’s a crime for lawmakers to remind servicemembers of that?
The President doesn't want you standing up and speaking out against him, so he's coming after me to intimidate all of us.

But I won't back down — and neither should you.

In 2016, the Justice Department brought charges against 130,000 suspects. Grand juries rejected indictments only six times.

During the Trump administration, by contrast, grand jurors have repeatedly rejected prosecutors’ requests for indictments.
Trump administration prosecutions focus new attention on grand juries
The administration has struggled with an unusual level of rejections in some cases and procedural stumbles in others.

Seems like the better way to do it
When I worked for Obama, I advised him on how to talk to Russian leaders. I never gave the Kremlin advice on how to talk to Obama (and I talked to Ushakov many times!).

Good read from Minna 👇

We're enabling an idiotic senile psychopath, who not only gets stuck in dementia loops sending us down the same dead-end roads every couple of months and never learning - but who surrounds himself with active Kremlin assets.

People are dying while we play his pointless games
