On why Farage doesn’t apologise for his schoolboy racism:
“if he apologised, he would be turning to his own support base and saying, ‘You’re all guilty too.’ ”
Exactly.
He is racist. So are his voters. He can’t be pissing them off by saying sorry.

Impossible to exaggerate what a brilliant writer Henry is. Pisses me right off tbh.
🚨Some personal news.

I'm thrilled to announce that I've just filed my first copy for The New Yorker.

A profile of Jonathan Gullis.

"You get the sense that offstage, Jonathan Gullis struggles with being Jonathan Gullis."

Poor Clacton. Elected to change the lives of his constituents, what has he accomplished. What local campaigns has he driven, what businesses has he promoted, what housing needs has he addressed? The most deprived area in the country has been abandoned by the grifting bigot.
Reform’s mission statement:

“Conservatives have failed and Labour will fail too…
We are ruled by an out of touch political class who have turned their backs on our country.
Reform is the alternative”

Where ‘alternative’ = exactly the same stitch-up and failure inflicted by the same wealthy elite.
FT Exclusive: The Reform UK leader told donors he expects a deal or merger between his party and the Conservatives ahead of the next general election, suggesting he does not believe he can sweep to power alone. on.ft.com/44xlHi0

He's making it a talking point.

A sensible place to begin.
BREAKING: “The idea that leaving the EU was the answer to all our cares and concerns has clearly been proved wrong."

Keir Starmer says that "wild promises were made" about Brexit.

He adds: "The same argument is now being made about the European Convention on Human Rights"

Would love to be fly on the wall when Gullis tries to start a conversation about the chances of paid employment at Millbank House?
It’s hardly a defection when you’ve been unemployed and unemployable for the last 18 months 🤷‍♂️

If you read one thing today, make it The Bear’s withering dismantling of Reform UK’s “budget” with the precision of someone who understands numbers… unlike the people who wrote it. A a masterclass in calm annihilation that's ruthlessly savage. 🔥

@13sarahmurphy.bsky.social Kruger’s @theguardian.com interview shows clearly how a Reform government would treat women. He won’t realise how much of the twisted thinking he spouted has given the game away. Even his “I cook more than my wife “ highlights his desire for control.

Perhaps the media could stop asking Reform “sensible” questions about unworkable “policies” written with crayons, and instead focus on why a party formed by a racist bigot, full of bigoted members who spout racism, is led/owned by an alleged racist bigot? BNP in all but name.
Whether Farage is racist “depends on how you define it” apparently.

Oxford dictionary definition: “the belief one's own race is superior to others, which leads to prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism against people of a different race/ethnicity”

Racist then.

Anybody got archive copies of the Mail, Telegraph, Sun, Express, BBC and Sky News outrage about the 672 prisoners released in error between March 2013-March 2023 and the 115 in the Tories last year in office, they must be out there somewhere.

Absolutely what was planned. Everyone saying Brexit wasn’t done properly wants to return the workers to the Victorian era. No rights, no healthcare, no pensions, no votes, just do what your “betters” tell you.
Always remember that Tories/Reform wanted Brexit so that they could ignore rules that everyone else followed. A race to the bottom. Deregulation. A bonfire of *our* rights and protections. Exploitation and consumer risk so that the wealthy and the powerful could grab more wealth and more power.

There is - its the constant hot rhetoric of blaming 'other' people for everything that is currently besetting the country - lwhich are the effects of austerity, the political criminality of Johnson, the madness that is Brexit, and the lack of interest in taxing those with the broadest shoulders.
