We got a tablet for Kick during early Covid and it's still going strong. She hasn't asked for an upgrade, just uses Mr. A's when she needs functionality for something like animation.
Why would people want a new phone to access an internet that has grown increasingly worse? My phone literally sits in my car for days on end. I forget about it constantly. It's a radio.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

Someone bought a bunch of the turkeys and hams at our local grocery in town and told the manager to make them available for free to folks that need them. There’s a whole freezer case with a sign on it that just says “If you need one take one, if you don’t then leave it for someone else.”

At a recent gathering of Rogers Park volunteers, we heard from a neighbor who choked up telling us about their dad turning around and going home when he heard whistles up the street. "One of you may have saved his life that day." It all matters, it really does.
One thing that is tough about rapid response/patrols, besides constantly being threatened by armed secret police, is that for the most part they see the defeats. There are exceptions, but you’ll never know how many people were saved by slowing feds down, whistles, community alerts, etc.

Everything is awful but this morning my kid picked up the larger of the two cats and scolded me for body-shaming him, saying, "Mom, he's not fat, he's family-sized!"
