This could be status quo bias working here, but I really don't think there will be a full blown schism in the US Catholic Church. I think some will go to more BasedTM religions and others will stay and practice selective hearing.

I hesitated sharing this poem because I truly do not want to be presumptuous about what you needed to hear. I just know that I take deep breaths and calm down for a while when I read it.

I will move on after this, truly. But the fact that SCOTUS will sign of taking the power of the purse from congress so that IT can re-establish the Jim Crow legal regime is yet another Win! for afropessimism.
caladaley.bsky.social
I have been ranting about unitary executive shit being anti-constituional all day, and it is. It is also true that racists have been sending wreckers to congress for decades such that the other branches are forced to do Congress's job if anything is to he done at all.

I do want Andrew Jacked to win, but he is just so tall 😔
caladaley.bsky.social
Very well, but there are consequences to letting maniacs pick at the edges. You have let them build the power to attack shit you do care about because you thought certain people did not matter.
caladaley.bsky.social
*Black people's participation in public life is not the edge of anything, but the sort of centrist libs who hang out in Bari Weiss's group chats sure seem to think it is.
caladaley.bsky.social
We ARE actually woven into a single garment of destiny, and the whole thing is unraveling because we let segregationists pick at the edges*.
caladaley.bsky.social
MLK was not just spouting hippy shit when he said that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, he was explaining the mechanics of the world. Because Roberts wanted to re-establish the Jim Crow legal order, Russ Vought gets to overrurn constitutionalism as such.
caladaley.bsky.social
It's cool that we are repealing 1649 because Roberts wanted to repeal 1965. A single garment of destiny, indeed.

While *I* think that the ownership of this rag should be tied to 4 horses, institutions like it are how a certain set of the elite communicates with each other, so it is a good sign for the future of the courts for this country that judges are running to nyt to list their grievances.
galvinalmanza.bsky.social
Seriously, Judges *do no do things like this*

They don't give their opinion to the media

They don't criticize how SCOTUS works

This is them breaking the emergency glass, folks

Basically the Unitary Executive Theory is not just anti-constitutional in terms of the specific US constitution, but is opposed to constitutionalism as an entire theory of law and government. They chopped of Charles 1 heads for this shit!!!

Of his fierce chariot rolled,

Gloomy as night; under his

People recoil at the idea that this scores is illegitimate because the implications are frightening, but if the judiciary is supposed to determine if the laws comply with the constitution and scotus rejects constitutionalism as a legal and governing philosophy, then what else can you call it?
caladaley.bsky.social
It's Schmitt all the way down!!! Originalism? A fig leaf for Schmitt. Major questions? Schmitt. Shadow docket abuse? You bet that's Schmitt.
caladaley.bsky.social
While SCOTUS will cite random witch hunters to make reproductive dcisions, they will ignore the legal and historical foundations for constitutionalism as an entire theory of government because conservative legal "scholarship" is opposed to constitutionalism as such.
caladaley.bsky.social
In 1649 a kings head was chopped off for many reasons, but trying to cut parliament out of money decisions was one of them.

Spiritual not religious = woo lady who wants to commune with The Divine, but hates rules. I am religious but not spiritual bc I am committed to Discipline, and Virtue and do not particularly care if I commune with the divine in this life. If its that important The Divine will drop a piano on my head
caladaley.bsky.social
Roberts repealed 1965 so the GOP could repeal the 19th century entire so that Roberts could repeal 1649.

Religious leaders here are not mincing words. They have repeatedly used the word "evil."

"Detention and deportation are acts that wound the body of Christ, and deny the dignity of God's people."

There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.

It's a condition of the brain, but being white does not seem to decrease (or even increase) your chances of getting it, relative to other groups.

I forgot who said it, but a lady here pointed out that autism, by appearing across racial and economic lines is a very uncomfortable condition for a eugenics society to confront.
