Hello! 👋
A lot of new bots & sketchy profiles on here lately. If I don’t follow you back, pls say hi & ask. Also, if you’re skeptical if I’m a bot, or want to know a bit more about me, click below. 👇
Hello to all the lovely ppl who have recently followed me. I’m at an odd career crossroads rn, so my posts are everywhere—but they mostly orbit around Qs on how to actually make a better world for the kids. All the kids.

As Charlie notes, so many of America's top assignment editors still rely on Twitter to get and share their ideas. Here's reason # 735879374985783478509 why that is fucking nuts.
I wrote about the fake account blowup on X this weekend. A genuine post-truth nightmare and proof that these companies have polluted their platforms so thoroughly and traded reality for profit that they've undermined the very idea of what the internet is supposed to be.

Me, reading this and getting frustrated, like, you could have aliens come to Earth & torture humans for ages trying to answer the same question.

Then thinking, what if instead they asked, Can fish feel bliss?, & test for that instead bc then at least, if true,

Climate change IS everything, because we won’t fix it unless we build a more just politics, and if we don’t fix it, nothing else will matter.
“Climate change isn’t everything“ is becoming a go-to justification for delaying action.

This is - deliberately or inadvertently - a misframing of the issue. The point isn’t CC is everything, it’s that it’s essential to deal with.

If we don’t fundamentally reorder the world to deal with climate change, nothing else matters. The “bond market” will just be a lot of empty offices full of dead computers with a lot of ones and zeroes in them that used to be real money, until the countries that issued it collapsed.
Yes, there are spending multipliers etc - and yes, Kuenssberg spouted vacuous talking points.

BUT.

There is a bond market (or more generally a macro) constraint to borrowing, as there was in the 2010s - we just weren't near it then. Dodging the issue/pretending it doesn't exist isn't a policy.
@zackpolanski.bsky.social on the importance of spending multipliers & borrowing to invest

Zack is, without doubt, a great communicator. And on him talking about democracy & the bond markets I'm reminded of Eddie Dempsey at the Durham Miners Gala when he asked "who elected the bond market?"

Ghost is definitely made for coders. I find it not intuitive and when building your homepage and having to manually reroute all your pages.

I tried it for a week after buying a premium template and really spent a lot of time trying to make it work. If it’s that expensive it should be easy to use.

Yes.
Impeachment isn’t an option, it’s a necessity. I know firsthand the lengths Trump is willing to go in order to silence dissent.

Impeach, convict, remove. And if our current leaders won’t do it, they need to step aside for people who will: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo54...

Trump essentially said loyalty to the Constitution is punishable by death. Those are dangerous words coming from the President of the United States, but I’m not going to be intimidated.

Something just deeply, humanly sad about being old enough to have seen all these things percolating through US culture for decades, finally uniting in support of a truly deranged form of evil.
Thought this was a devastatingly clear insight from Fintan O'Toole (@fotoole.bsky.social) that no one else has entirely broached, so far as I know (cf. www.nybooks.com/online/2025/...).

Put another way, waging aggressive war is the net cumulative emergent effect of the sum of all the other evils.
Waging aggressive war, as Russia has been flagrantly doing, is “the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole”, as the Nuremberg Tribunal put it.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_...
The war is not complex. It is in fact the simplest variety, being a bald-faced act of cross border aggression and invasion, with liberation of sovereign territory from occupation as the correct resolution.
