Having lived through two cat 5 Caribbean hurricanes: Jamaica will require aid for years. The devastation's hard to overstate. This is our new norm under climate change.

Infra like elec/water will be disrupted for weeks for critical locations, months for residents.

Walked into my living room and the roof/ceiling is leaking again. One of the spots that leaked last time, plus 2 new spots nearby. The other spots that were leaking before are not. Thankfully. But who knows whether it will stay that way. We have had heavy rain this afternoon and evening.

Although I work from home, I can’t really be away from my desk more than maybe 10 minutes at a time. I managed to take a super quick shower, including washing my hair, in about 8 minutes this morning after I clocked in. I just didn’t get up *quite* early enough to have time after working out. LOL

Sometimes when I can’t find one of my cats, and they are not responding to their name (which mine actually usually do), I have to become a crazy person and do the mother cat call. Then whoever is missing usually comes out. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ugh I’m sorry. Definitely sound consistent with a UTI. It’s awful. My girl had a UTI previously in April but has no prior history of it. I’m just glad that it’s easy to treat. 😩

Home from the vet. Maisy had a “pretty bad UTI” and was given an antibiotic shot that lasts 2 weeks, we have a recheck appointment on 11/03. Trying not to burn up what little PTO I have and so I’m working from now until 6pm.

I called out (well I left a message because that department doesn’t open until 9:00am). Texted my leader’s POC. Watched my cat try (and fail) to pee outside of the litter box. Anxiously waiting for the vet’s office to open in a few so I can call.

My cat Maisy is acting weird. She’s displaying similar behaviours to when she had the UTI in April. *sigh* Going to call my vet when they open at 7:30 to see if I can get her in. I also have to work at 7:30 and my direct leader is on vacation this week. 😭 Why can’t I catch a break on things?!
