🌉🌉🍃🍃COVERED BRIDGE: VERMONT MASTER THREAD🌉🌉🍃🍃

Already off to a GREAT start: when driving from eastern MA to Bennington, we passed right by a bridge in Brattleboro that is closed to traffic so wasn’t on my list. The Creamery bridge!!

I cannot overstress how fucking constantly we were working
This is emblematic of the consumer culture that fees have engendered.

What the hell did the students expect? It was a ONCE IN A CENTURY PANDEMIC. There were LAWS against congregating in public. Staff worked themselves to the bone to get online delivery working.

Students begin Covid compensation claim against 36 more universities
It comes after University College London settled a claim from students there over lost learning in the pandemic.

So my wedding is end of May and I’ve had the thought since we set the date “ok so I gotta get out there and tan HARD as FAST as I can ANY day that’s remotely nice out” and honestly w the way this winter has been I’ll be tanning in 50 degree weather and feeling overheated
chicago's at 60 and I would cut off a pinky finger for a day of 40 and no wind
It was a glorious 60° day in Chicago. Went for a long walk. Popped-up the drone for a peek at the skyline.

Every “person” you talk to today feels like a chat bot. Case in point: Samsung relentlessly texting me at 10:30 last night, after I explained I have a technician coming today

(This kept going. I woke up to a dozen texts)

When this bubble bursts and the economy tanks they’re going to try and blame the workers for not adapting to the tech fast enough and I just want us all to remember that’s a lie meant to cover for top-down incompetence

Oh this SUCKS. Her skis were a centimeter long but get this: that length is tied to BMI. Which means if she lost weight during the games, her equipment which WAS good is suddenly too long

A student asked if this proof was doable without subderivations (she easily figured out several different ways to do this with subderivations) and I mucked around a bit until I found a tricky little bastard of a way, using some sneaky hypothetical syllogisms and extremely twisted exportations.

Jaywalking in the United States is a made up "crime" that was literally a psyop campaign....

funded by automakers

because their cars were killing pedestrians

So they turned it back around on the victims. "Jay" was a negative slang at the time for someone who was a gullible rural person.
I'm not especially opposed to driverless cabs, but I'm fucked if I'm giving up my ancestral British right to cross the road anywhere if it's safe for me to do so. "Jaywalking" isn't a thing or a crime here, techbros, so your magic cars will have to learn to deal with that.
Politics London discussing driverless taxis casually referring to “jaywalking pedestrians”.

Jaywalking is not a thing in UK law.

Transport for London and Government had better not be asleep at the wheel on this.

I work the polls we give these out when ever someone asks.

I work the Canvassing Board where we get these requests and validate (or not) ballots cast this way.

The system works well, if you let it.
