Personally do not think he should go for a decapitation strategy, it’ll energise a local party/campaigning apparatus - and I think personal connection is also overegged as long as it is in London.
From his view, I’d pick a central London seat without a high profile MP, and ideally a male opponent.

I don’t think I’m over interpreting but Polanski seems to hint quite strongly in his Rest is Politics podcast that he’s thinking of running against Stella Creasy in Walthamstow. Think that would be a pretty brave move (in the Sir Humphrey sense). One of the v few Labour with a genuine personal vote

Having a panel of members lead a party sounds like a terrible idea that will lead to directionless leadership and factional frictions.

I am on strike today. It’s about pay and also about jobs. The pay arguments are more widely known - we still earn less than our counterparts in the previous generation due to well over a decade of stagnant pay. We want restoration to that previous level.

Absolutely. Very few people buy newspapers now. Some newspaper websites do have huge readership, so might be worth look at those too. Alternatively the BBC should have the journalistic confidence to set its own agenda.
If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

If Farage wins, I’m split on what happens to the BBC. Does he just straight up abolish or reform to an unrecognisable state.
Or does he find he quite likes the set up and reach, and forces it to slowly GB News itself.

Can you imagine the response if Starmer tried to sue a national broadcaster in the US? It wouldn’t happen and it’s about time Starmer stood up to Trump or he will keep coming back for more.

I can't imagine a job i'd like to do less. Managing an organisation held to a ludicrous standard by roaring idiots on a daily basis, while the main mediums it uses are all in decline and it's starved of resources.

Frankly ridiculous self-flagellation by the BBC again. The speech didn’t need to be edited or abridged to show what it was. But for Director General and Director of News the resign is massively over the top and peddles the actual lie that Trump didn’t try to end US democracy in 2021.

Credit to the Greens over the last 5 years in terms of their campaigning organisation. They have much better literature and now actually target.

If Greens start consistently leading Labour in polls, and beating them in local elections then the logic of tactical voting which Labour has been relying on could flip savagely on them. As Caerphilly by-election shows, "Only Labour can beat Reform" doesn't work if voters know it isn't true.

I don’t think the far right party *only* getting 36% yesterday is good news. It’s bad news and shows Reform are probably on course for a lot more seats next time round.

By the way, the Conservatives won 17% in Caerphilly at the last Senedd election. Last night was also the story of their absolute wipe-out. They’ve always been comparatively weak in Wales since devolution, but to see them on 2% is brutal.
