Brian Schatz: "This is not about money. There is enough money to bail out Argentina with $20b. There is enough money to purchase a brand new aircraft for $173m for Noem. There is enough money to renovate the WH ballroom. What there isn't enough money for under this Republican government is you."

This is an excellent idea... when you next get a fundraising text... tell them you can't donate because you need to support a local food bank
I've gotten multiple messages from clients today that they won't get SNAP next month.

It's a really good day to donate to a food bank. Do it in the name of your favorite political candidate instead of funding crummy text campaigns.

I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

The most corrupt administration in generations. Trump’s conflicts of interest and grifting off his offices is astounding, and deeply violative of our constitution and shared values.

Now Arizona has also said "no," and Vanderbilt has indicated it will do the same. That leaves just the University of Texas, which has been placed under the control of the Texas GOP and is going through what Greg Abbott calls an "ideological test" for conformity with Texas GOP ideology.

I love what Alex and co. are doing in Maine and I really hope it becomes sustainable, and -- unlikely as it may seem -- maybe even replicable elsewhere.
Some huge news for the @midcoastvillager:

1) We just won best weekly newspaper in the state from the Maine Press Association!

2) The NYT just ran a big feature on us and why we've managed to attract national talent!

3) We just set up the ability to accept tax-deductible donations!
