I read recently that art allows you to put yourself in the shoes of others who aren't like you. It allows you to live the day in the life of...pick your choice. And, as such, is a powerful tool against hate and dehumanization.

I don't like to talk about stories before they are fully reported, but I am writing on ICE in a Minnesota town that isn't Minneapolis. However bad you think it is, it is worse. It is a campaign of pure terror whose only strategic goal is more terror. There is no strategy other than to break people.

New— An American citizen boarding flight from Boston to Lisbon just now told me after showing boarding pass, every passenger stopped on jetway by two ICE agents demanding to take their photo. More and more, I've seen genAI as the new frontier for patriarchy, to push back against women's right to autonomy at scale. Combatting this would require real consequences for perpetrators both online and offline.
