When I think "where the vast majority of Americans actually are," I think about the millionaire lawyer for Jeffrey Epstein & Harvey Weinstein & Donald Trump who was recently in the news for threatening to sue a pierogi seller in Martha's Vineyard, where he has one of his homes.

Meanwhile, a neighbor who attended the presser (and asked not to be named for safety concerns) voiced the concern that immigration raids would be used to clear South Shore and similar communities of people of color and low-income residents.

Moments ago: tenants of the South Shore apartment building that federal immigration agents raided at the end of September held a presser to announce they're forming a tenants union.

They're demanding, among other things, sewage removal and heat and electricity restroration.

More updates TK.

Pitch meeting: “It’s Ashley Madison, but for racism!”

Better headline: How many children will die due to this snake-oil salesman?
Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

They're from the tests in Yucca Flat 300 miles away. Bright enough that they were visible all the way out here.

And they happened often enough that there are a lot of these photos. The LA Public Library and USC photo collection have a bunch of them.

Two photos taken from Downtown L.A.

They're from the L.A. Herald Examiner in 1951 and 1952. One from the Herald's roof, the other, I don't know, west of Downtown, maybe?

Not particularly remarkable. Kind of boring, really. Unless you know what they are.

They're nukes.

New data suggests separations are happening all over the country, often after little more than a traffic stop.

Every Democrat in Congress should put out a video saying troops have an obligation to refuse unlawful orders. Make them prosecute all of you. This isn't a close call.

I'd add Republicans too if I thought any of them had the courage to actually cross Trump on this.
Hegseth is now threatening to recall Sen. Mark Kelly to active duty in order to court martial him.

I think it’s pretty clear at this point that one of the main impacts of LLMs is to disrupt thinking: to make it so that far too many people never properly learn how to do it, and then to control the output so there are thoughts that people never learn how to think.

Once again, Elon has created a system where he can personally fund hate and Russian propaganda whilst maintaining some deniability regarding this because he's paying based on engagement.
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.
