Don’t you hate standing at gigs? I hate standing at gigs. At my gig on the 21st October you can sit in nice red chairs. It’s on a boat five minutes from Canary Wharf station. I play all of my record The Ship’s Piano.

Contents are as perfectly delightful as you’d imagine. Jill McDonald somehow managing to bring a colourful quality even to her monochromatic illustrations.
Very, very tempted to get a tattoo of that spectacularly sublime sickly cat
Page from a 1970s puffin post magazine, gorgeous cartoon pictures in black and white illustrate short texts about how to make a puppet theatre from a matchbox and instructions on creating a snake shaped draught excluder with a sickly looking cross eyed cat with a speech bubble reading yurck in capital letters, illustrating a short item on creating a recipe for deliberately disgusting food. The style of the illustration is a joyful junior psychedelia

Just going to assume the next Kraftwerk album is called Dynamische Preisgestaltung, or something.
A screenshot, pinched from @stevejvickers.bsky.social, showing ludicrously high ticket prices for a Kraftwerk gig.

OK I'm not sure you're getting all the emails then. Which is weird. Anyhow if interesting we're back 13th December in St Mary (Islington) for our 400th Edition. Ben

Does anyone know of any #Islington listing sites, groups, pages etc where I should be posting Saturday's Daylight Music event on? Our 3rd back in Islington at St Mary Magdelene (Holloway Road), 5 mins walk from Highbury & Islington station. Or anywhere here, there or anywhere I can promote it?? Ellp

#OTD 45 years ago (7 Oct 1980) according to my diary, I drew these images for the Hitchhiker's Guide BBC TV series. Douglas Adams as both the ad exec and as Paula, the worst poet in the universe. I was 19 years old and having fun.
Mindless Jerks artwork for Hitchhiker's Guide TV series drawn by KJD (c) Pearce Studios Ltd. 1980. Paula NM Jennings (Worst Poet) artwork for Hitchhiker's Guide TV series drawn by KJD (c) Pearce Studios Ltd. 1980.

Noted in the comments, this is possibly the funniest band picture ever taken, with the bloke on the left only managing to get his jeans and hand in shot, and the other one cropped out entirely apart from the tip of his ear.

In one week we're back in Islington. The beautiful part of London where we began, grew and developed as a series over a decade. We return to our new N7 HQ - the very beautiful settings of St Mary Magdelene (3 mins from Highbury & Islington station)

Whitney Bender’s cover design for 1951’s first American edition of “The Day of the Triffids” by John Wyndham. I’m oddly charmed at the lone, apparently benign Triffid on the cover, as if it were a harmless alien tourist sharing humanity’s bafflement about the lights in the nighttime sky.

IMHO, the posters for After the Hunt look like ads for Marks & Spencers' autumn range.
