This thread is humorous but just so predictably depressing. Govt pouring money into #AI "support" that is not only full of corporate presence, but also virtually pointless for users AND those who have to encounter what users then produce.
And all of it could be delivered by humans, helping humans.
The course concludes by... prompting* me to sign up for a ChatGPT account. I hope Accenture got paid by ChatGPT, and the govt. got paid by Accenture, and... nobody's paying me are they? No.

*see what I did there? I got ChatGPT to write that**.
** nope.

Grim news for particle physics, astronomy & nuclear physics research in UK. 30% cut overall with projects asked to consider options ranging to a 60% cut. These areas are a huge success for the UK internationally and a great inspiration to the next generation of scientists and engineers.

'Fruit Trees.' Albert Fiks experimented with different styles and then combined them in his own way in his work. With his abstract style, he chose the path of his friend Piet Mondrian. This work from his Cubist period, was made in 1932.

i can confirm the chats I’m in which include renowned security specialists - people who actually advise on how to protect your comms from authoritarian dictators for a living - also think this outburst of paranoia about Signal is really weird and unwarranted
every Signal chat of laypeople is losing their minds over the wildest opsec advice imaginable and every Signal chat of security professionals is like “dude wtf”

The vast majority of problems can be avoided by not being foolish, being aware of your surroundings, and using common sense

The Deportation Data Project has some interesting information about how people are being arrested by immigration police and what is happening.
First thing worth pointing out, the increased number of immigration arrests are from massive "street arrests" and more transfers from other agencies.

2) has a year that's almost exactly 1 Earth year.

3) orbits a star that is not a 💢temperamental little shit M-dwarf 💢but is instead a 🧡 good orange boi 🧡

If you feel "hamstrung" by human rights laws and by health and safety laws - you are the person those laws were designed to protect us against. You need to be obstructed by those laws.

Also, she's lying.

In summary, from both a personal and professional perspective, to hinder access to HPV vaccine would be to directly cause preventable deaths in both men and women, and to cost the U.S. $8B per year.

And I will fight it with everything in my power, I can promise you that.
