My first entirely self made Halloween costume for my kid. The base layer is a McCall's cheerleader pattern, the hood was modified from an animal hood pattern, and the rest was self drafted, including the under skirt. There is also a pair of stretch velvet shorts underneath

I sometimes wonder if this is another malignancy from online gaming crossing into real life. I saw a lot of excuses for/normalization of abhorrent things during my peak World of Warcraft years either as "just jokes" or "but he's important to our shared goals so don't start a fight"
Suffering today, suffering tomorrow, suffering forever
I hadn't intended to finish this so quickly, but it's for comfortably dragging my stuff to swim meets. Two this weekend, one opening at 6:30 am. At least I'll have snacks

The main fabric is a piece of canvas I got directly from Rashida Coleman-Hale in a studio clean out bundle

sure hope no one needs anything from the strategic national stockpile, which isn't just for pandemics — it's for providing critical medical supplies for major public health emergencies in general, like chemical spills and nuclear incidents
Got a new story about a little-known HHS agency with a massive job: the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR).
ASPR gave us Operation Warp Speed.
Now it's being run by a conspiracy theorist who calls those vaccines “genocide.” www.msnbc.com/msnbc/meet-a...

so many things that should happen to the people doing this. I’m not supposed to say this. can’t say them. maybe I’ll say them
A witness in our case had ICE reject all her documents after using facial rec on her.

For her, tho, it seemed like nothing could make them accept that she has a right to be here.

Either way, a gov policy of not trusting gov-issued docs is going to violate lots of people's rights.
These are actual fun facts, and I'm genuinely delighted
We used to go one town north of there when I was a kid. I remember being told 35 years ago how critical the dunes were to prevent erosion. They still exist for now, at least on Google Maps. Was the rest of the island always YOLOing right up to the ocean?

US citizen, 67, ‘has six ribs broken’ by Border Patrol agents, his running club says
The incident unfolded Saturday in Chicago’s Old Irving Park neighborhood, where residents say federal agents disrupted a children’s Halloween parade

Anyway. With the CDC disbanded and the government shutdown, the reboot would be a very short movie.

Morgan Freeman: We have an outbreak, Doctor.

Dustin Hoffman: Due to the radical left-wing government shutdown, I am out of the office until Democrats in Congress get back to work and pass a budget.

The astonishing return of the United States Congress
🚨 The Senate votes 52-48 to overturn President Trump's 50 percent tariffs on Brazil. 5 GOP Senators break ranks to vote against Trump: Collins ME, McConnell KY, Murkowski AK, Paul KY, and Tillis NC.
Did I make this top a couple years ago for my aunt's milestone birthday, congratulate myself on my planning, and then forget which year that birthday would take place?

Yes, but at least it's basted now. My mom's birthday quilt used the same fabric line and this one includes its scraps

An immigrant couple is instructed to only feed their child more expensive pasteurized milk in THE ITALIAN (1915). When the husband is robbed and wrongfully imprisoned, the wife is forced to buy cheaper raw milk and the baby dies from it. This kind of social commentary was common in the 1910s.

This makes RFK Jr. look even worse. mRNA vaccines have been one of the biggest scientific advances in recent memory, saving millions of people, and now we learn they can prolong the lives of cancer patients. And Kennedy is trying to kill them. The dude is a dangerous freakshow. Why is he even here?
Study finds mRNA coronavirus vaccines prolonged life of cancer patients
A study found that covid-19 vaccines appeared to awaken the immune system in lung and skin cancer patients, helping them live longer than those not vaccinated.

Here's a photo of my friend and colleague, Jorge Bautista, getting shot in the face with a flashbang grenade. The ICE Agent is so afraid of Jorge (who was posing no threat) that he has wet himself. Please share this photo. Everyone needs to know what cowards ICE agents are.
The latter is all over. A recruiter straight up told my husband a few months ago it was a good thing he was a veteran because that might outweigh the perception that hiring him was DEI
Cutting these two projects killed it off I guess

My second Instagram popular hype iron died, this time lasting somewhat longer than the prior one at just under two years. This time I'm trying a Panasonic cordless one instead

this is an absolutely wild use of passive voice, where you have to get through layers of narrative to figure out an ICE agent smashed a car window with his gun like an idiot, which went off and shot two people
I had a wild interview years ago with a candidate who had among other things beaten up a guy he caught with his girlfriend after he had a dream where his dead father told him she was cheating. That was a fun report to give to the researchers
They do, but it only works if the candidate is honest with their own campaign about what could get them in trouble. It's not meant to be a hostile or dishonest interaction
