My lukewarm take is that anyone who was in the Epstein Files should be drummed out of polite society.
In an interview with NPR, Melinda French Gates confirmed that she ended her marriage with Bill Gates because of allegations contained in the Epstein files.

Our office has clients whose injuries were so severe that their treatment dramatically exceeded the $50k no fault limit, and were forced to go into medical debt to treat themselves.

As @kevinduggan.bsky.social points out, had that amount tracked inflation, it'd now be $329k.

This is interesting news & good argument. I had no idea the Newburgh-Beacon boat had been kiboshed @streetsblognys.bsky.social
OPINION: The Newburgh-Beacon Ferry Was More Than a Boat — It Was Equity in Motion - Streetsblog Empire State
The MTA's decision to discontinue ferry service between Newburgh and Beacon deprives Mid-Hudson Valley communities of a vital link to mass transit and economic opportunity.

On this day in 1653, the town of New Amsterdam planted the seeds for our legislative body— and thus, the Council was born. 🥳

373 years young and still showing up for New Yorkers every day. Happy birthday to us!

Bx12 bus is THE vital east west link for The Bronx-its slow. ESP at its western terminus in Inwood—so half Bx12 (FordhamRd/207st)
Buses don’t connect thus don’t link the 1/A to the Bronx.
Bx9 (KingsbridgeRd/225st) are slow& over crowded and@end at GrandConcourse-
A subway expansion here would be 🧑‍🍳💋

Getting east to west in The Bronx is hard. Really there is only Fordham road that goes through (and the highway).

And the legit BIG hills make it a tough place to bike east west as well.

Such a line would be transformative

Forget Free NYC Buses: Just Build 41 Miles of New Subways
Fare-free bus service in New York City would cost around $1 billion per year. A new report proposes spending that on a “transformative” transit expansion instead.

More great video from yesterday’s unity ride in Minneapolis, from Recovery Bike Shop.

This one has a clip of our city council president, @elliottpayne.org , corking an intersection to keep other riders safe.

Minneapolis is a special place.

Just got gassed pretty good at the labor union anti-ICE protest in Portland. Massive march, 5-10k strong. Vibes were very much liberal rather than radical. Lots of kids and older folks.

They gassed the whole crowd as soon as it marched on ICE, in broad daylight.

Alex Pretti ride, Milwaukee

I've been riding a bike since I was 5 (almost 40 years). I've been on more group rides than I can count. This is the biggest group ride I've ever participated in. If you said it was 1000 people, I'd believe you.
