Yes, it's Kenny Everett's Brainstorm with "My Star": a very un-ESC bit of dreamy '90s guitar pop with a strong chorus, sung by a stretched cartoon of Brett Anderson. An absolute landmark that even Europe scored quite well. ⭐

Latvia are one of the stronger acts we've had for a while in this game, and I wanna say they give us food for thought. I mean, they turned the Man from Del Monté into a woman to win in 2002 (tick). But this post is Justs going through the motions cos there's a very definite selection coming up...
Sophie Okonedo has revealed she's stepping down from the true crime comedy panelshow vodcast she does with Johnny Depp, Gemma Whelan, & Michael Legge. The revelation came in the last episode of the current series. No reasons were cited, but Depp, who founded the podcast in lockdown etc.. #dreamtweet
The latter. She's trolling the first Doctor after getting downtime access to a TARDIS at the Academy.

It would have been in storage in the scenery dock when Eric and Ernie did it. The economies of scale that enabled comedy to parody the rest of TV were dependent on the BBC factory being in operation, the boxes of hats and sets and props all downstairs, not built or hired individually.

In the end I've settled on Csaba Szigeti's moody Eurorock lighter-waver "Új név egy régi ház falán" from 1995 which is one of the catchiest examples of a sound that dominated Eurovision for a bit before the panpipes kicked in.

Back when they played, Hungary would swing wildly from fad to fad, occasionally swinging back to something artfully Hungarian now and again. Unfortunately for me, for all their exoticism, none of their entries ever really had an especially strong hook. Which makes this a tough choice.
Tonight, Nikita looks like a hot gangster who's been buried alive in a disused gold mine by one of his enemies but it's only served to make him even hotter. #scd #strictly

As a child I assumed they were called Glassier Mints because they were so glassy. And fundamentally I still do.
Based on a UK & Ireland confectionery brand, I realise this might not compute with my overseas followers. However, many thanks to @thephoenixmagazine for publishing this #climatecrisis #cartoon
