Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.

Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

The internet is done, isn’t it?

The proliferation of AI is the final insult to dream the “web” once was. AI slop is ruining everything and is actively making people dumber.

AOC: "Extreme level of wealth inequality leads to social instability and drives authoritarianism, right-wing populism, and really dangerous domestic internal politics. That is a direct outcome of the failure of democracies over decades to deliver."

This is an interesting piece about how NYT is using AI in its newsroom. (tl;dr: they generate transcripts of the podcasts they're tracking, those transcripts gets summarized, those summaries get delivered in a report to journalists)
When actress Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle ad became a culture war flashpoint last summer, Times journalists noticed, in part through the reports, that right-wing podcast figures were shaping the backlash. www.niemanlab.org/2026/02/how-...
How The New York Times uses a custom AI tool to track the “manosphere”
The daily podcast round-up is just one way the Times is adopting in-house AI transcription and summarization tools.

If you saw today's headline that Gallup will stop measuring presidential approval, they did the same thing in 2018. They do it whenever Trump is president.

Watching elected Ds use the Epstein Files as a punchline instead of treating it as a nightmare children lived through and will forever be scarred by is unbelievable. These victims had the guts to come forward and speak about dangerous and powerful individuals on the record and nothing happened
No one who has seen the Epstein case unfold should have any doubt left about why victims don’t report. When reporting means facing more abuse, more exploitation, and more betrayal at the institutional level, while the perpetrators are the leaders of the very systems of “justice” supposed to help you
