Mucks around with AO3 but under different name. You’re probably looking for a different Whovian. Enthusiastic about theatre. ADHD. She/her.
Shooting Fish, which hopefully everyone’s forgotten anyway. Some stupid thing about scamming a theatre box office as if arguing with staff = Ocean’s 11. I was working box office at the time and there was no way the lie would work. Also I think the sold out musical was called Dogs. Ha ha ha.
#FilmSky, a quick question; what is the pettiest thing you have had to be annoyed at a film? I ask because I am watching The Gift from 2000, and the main character does divination with Zener Cards, which are not the same thing as Tarot at all. Why go for a more boring looking option?

The number of things going wrong on a global level, on an extremely local (just outside my flat) level, and on a person on my phone level is breaking my brain.

Why can a politician remove citizenship with little or no judicial consideration?

The home secretary has brutal wide-ranging power to deprive British citizens of this most basic of rights

I’ve discovered I can silence my mother with “That’s a rather negative way of putting it.” It has to be said lightly and calmly though, or it will give her the drama she’s looking for.

E.g. “You’ve got your poor dad totally addicted to [show.]”
“That’s a rather negative way of putting it.”
“…”
"What's your goal here?" is such a powerful way of putting the brakes on an escalating cycle of assholery without backing down.

It works SO well. Just "What do you want to have happen?"
Also if Karen starts shit back

I'd probably go with something like

'Okay, what's your goal here. What outcome are you hoping for with your comments. Do you think such things improve my cooking when you say the chicken was dry previously or my baked from SCRATCH CAKE was 'probably a box''

Yep. At least stop sending me links to tweets. I don’t go there anymore.
I absolutely do judge you if you're still on Twitter

Sir Terry Pratchett is best understood as one of the most interesting, deeply ethical practical (I would say Pragmatist but I cede to actual experts) philosophers of the late 20th Century who just happened to work in deconstructed fantasy literature as his medium.

Just found something I wrote in the very specific period of time between disliking Good Omens Series 2 and all the stuff that came out about the writer, and you know what, I really like it. I like it a lot more than Good Omens Series 2. Admittedly I wrote it for an audience of me…

Giving away UK/IE books is nowhere near as rewarding as US books, because it can take multiple days&reminders to get 5 of them claimed. If this were to reliably increase, I would do these more often, hint hint hint.

Cached UK/IE Kindle giveaway: 5 copies of The Martian by Andy Weir, which I have and have read and have enjoyed a lot. I also really liked the movie; I think it was a very good adaptation. You MUST have an amazon.co.uk account to claim one!

Epic pays for licensing fees for the games they give away for free as promotions. Which means even if YOU aren't paying for it, you're giving money to JK Rowling to harm transgender people AND elevating her stature by giving her franchise higher numbers.

NO TERF WIZARD GAME. NO TERF WIZARD SHOW.

And I will buy more because I can fit more on the shelves!*

*This is a lie because the shelves are full, but I will make smaller piles on the floor!
i am begging publishers to bring back mass paperbacks. i am not in the income bracket to buy sprayed edges. i am not in the income bracket to buy.... regular edges. i can afford 0 edges. a circle book.

95% of the books on my shelves are either borrowed from the library or ARCs.

some significant part of this is just catch-all fear for “this is not the child I ordered” I think
Oh, here's a big surprise. The transphobes don't believe in ADHD either.
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

There’s a fine line between “Yay! New interest! So much stuff I won’t run out for ages!” and “I feel actual guilt that there is so much stuff that I will never catch up and be a good audience for all of it. All the people in this giant show have giant shows of their own.”

Because I don’t have enough depressing conversations with my mother, I told her about the WI (she’s a member.) I don’t think she believed me. And then she got weird and made it a class thing, so I guess today she’s cosplaying as (retired) working class.
