an unfortunate irony about this post - and even if you are the staunchest anti-ai critic out there, i think you'd agree - is that some of the most bigoted things are being said to respond to this. copy/pasting phrasing and terminology used by bigots but replacing "dna" with "bits" doesn't make it ok

My grandpa's parents both worked here during the war. His Dad was a foreman at the yards when Pearl Harbor happened and he went to enlist in the Navy and they let him know in no uncertain terms that America needed skilled shipyard workers a lot more then they needed sailors.

If a country is causing other countries problems what you want to do is give them an ultra nationalist, authoritarian ruler bent on restoring it's lost greatness and with unlimited access to its war machine and intelligence apparatus. That way you'll never have to deal with them again.
