Apropos of Diana Ross's "Upside Down" featuring in Stranger Things (which I don't think is a spoiler), can you imagine confronting someone with "Respectfully I say to thee, I'm aware that you're cheating..."? Though I suppose there's a linguistic implication you're about to get biblical on their ass

Foyles and Waterstones have just announced their books of the year and once again I've made neither list 😢

I haven't published, written or even thought about writing a book, but still.

One of my favourite details in American Psycho, is that not only are they all Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions, but they all spelled “aquisitions” wrong

My skin is so dry in this weather, my phone and laptop locks don't recognise my fingerprint. Like, "Who are you, you dusty old crone?"

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who’s coming to save you?

You know how there's "hot chilli powder" that's a mixture of dried chillies plus all the other herbs and spices you need in a chilli con carne. Then there's "hot chilli powder" that's just hot chillies, ground up, which blow your head off? Guess what I put in my dinner tonight? 🥵🌶

What's the longest you've ever procrastinated over something that took moments to solve? I've had this beautiful pendant for 20+ years but it's always been on an unwearably short chain. I measured, researched and ordered a replacement in 15 minutes yesterday. It arrived this morning 🤦‍♀️

Paid £9.25 for a (terrible) pint in a plastic glass tonight. The £10 pint event horizon edges every closer. I predict 2026 will be the year.

Remember the kiosk at Oakwood station I posted the other day? Here's the one behind it. I'm going to rent it out and sell comics and ha'penny chews.

A local paper doing the Lord's work here. The editor found out a freelancer who pitched a remarkably well-researched story had a long history of submitting entirely AI-generated stories with invented quotes supposedly from real experts. A lot of well-respected titles had to take down stories.

I live in fear of Rimmel stopping the manufacture of its Wonder'Ink Liquid Eyeliner in black and having to develop a personality.

Black Friday is the perfect occasion to unsubscribe from marketing emails from all the companies you followed for just one deal earlier in the year, but subsequently forgot about.

I should probably post on LinkedIn to "maintain my visibility" while job hunting. But I'd rather stick sporks in my eyes.

Proposing a service for people on their own at Christmas* that will deliver a fridge full of leftovers and nibbly bits without having to go through the faff of actually cooking a meal.

*Me. It's for me.

Is "Hallmark Christmas slasher movie" a genre? Like, there's a reason why he's a widower and can't leave home. His late wives were all wealthy, high-flying city lawyers too.
