I work for the public library but I am not a librarian. Occasionally, I'll do class visits, panels, readings, and workshops. Occasionally, I will win a grant. I do not and have never made a livable wage from writing.
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

My favorite part of MURDERLAND was how it chronicled the I-90 bridge exactly the same as the local serial killers 📚💙

I always hated that bridge but now I can say, "wow it's a lot better than it used to be" lol

Spending Thanksgiving break with my 1yo nephew and every time he finds sunglasses or a cell phone he gives them to me

I'm drowning in sunglasses and cell phones

Also I think I might be his executive assistant now

Potatoes are a versatile vegetable. You can make all sorts of things with them, from fries and dumplings to ammunition for a PVC cannon that you fuel with hair spray.

I wanted to do animation right out of high school but my mom was very traditional and I ended up doing a business degree at University of Ottawa; after one year of working as a market research analyst, I decided I still wanted to pursue animation and moved to Vancouver to go back to school.
