This will, of course, bring out a load of people who are offended at the very thought of someone daring to do something incredibly normal on telly while not conforming to their expectations on “gender”. I haven’t actually asked the Sorcerers “btw how do you identify” before writing this, and I’m not about to assume anyone’s pronouns or identification - because in the context of a quiz show, I could not care less. It’s a quiz show. What matters is the quiz questions and trying to answer them. But… if you are watching OC, and that tilts you SO MUCH that you taking to social media to write snide little comments about trans folk - a proportionally tiny community of people whose very existence is a battle that has been made harder at every turn of late, with debate fuelled by bad actors intent upon distracting us from wider societal issues - then take a look at yourself. It is hate. It is bigotry at its plainest. All because someone who looks different is on telly. Trans people will always exist. LGB *with* the T. If you’ve got an issue with anything I’ve said, go on, have at me. I’ve got my trans siblings’ backs all the way. Paddy (he/him/his)

Two pictures of me, over 40 years apart, at a building I've loved forever and have been lucky enough to work in.
It's had a huge refurbishment, it feels the same, but also brand new and I can't wait to move back in on Monday.
Me, this afternoon, on a staircase that didn't exist the last time I was here. It's been cut in between floors, with sky lights being cut into the roof. Bringing loads of natural light in to both floors. If you don't know me, I have blonde, messy, shoulder length hair. I wear black, large framed glasses. In this image I'm wearing a white t-shirt under a grey waistcoat. I also have a rainbow coloured lanyard around my neck. I'm not exactly smiling, as the staircase is very functional looking, and the original design was much cooler. A picture of me, aged around 12. I'm standing outside the building I now work in . Halifax Building Society is on block letters above my head. I'm wearing a black and white checked shirt dress, with a cream coloured aran cardigan. I'm also wearing white daisy shoes (I wanted black) and carrying a grey coat, which I hated, that trails on the floor. I'm smiling in this one, probably because I didnt have bills to pay.

There’s no screening for ovarian cancer and it’s really difficult to spot: you can’t squidge your ovaries in the shower to check for lumps. Also it’s very good at masquerading at other things, like IBS and diverticulitis.

Please take a look at this list of symptoms - and share if you can.
Cancer of the ovary, fallopian tube or peritoneum usually causes symptoms that are similar to common non-cancerous conditions. This can make it difficult to diagnose early. If you have any of these symptoms or get these symptoms regularly, your GP should offer you cancer tests: • a long-lasting bloated or swollen tummy • feeling full quickly when you eat • loss of appetite • pain in the lower tummy area or back • peeing (passing urine) more often than usual • needing to pee urgently (feeling like you cannot hold on). Other symptoms may include: • a change in your normal bowel function (diarrhoea or constipation) • weight loss for no obvious reason • unexplained or extreme tiredness (fatigue) • vaginal bleeding after the menopause. If you are aged 50 or older and develop symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) for the first time, you should also have tests. IBS can cause bloating and changes in bowel function. But it does not usually start after the age of 50.

Oh my goodness! Our small (but perfectly formed) bunch of volunteers at Calderdale Pride have been shortlisted as finalists in the Yorkshire Post Tourism Award for Event of the Year! We're thrilled!
