And as with much infrastructure, my bet is that sources of funds relies heavily on federal funding which cannot be counted on for the next … however long.

It’s just a disaster in every area.

Republicans’ taxidermy of the Congress is by design — a natural if incidental consequence of a partisan program that dispenses with the need, or even the idea, of legislation.

These people believe they should break laws with impunity. They have no need for lawmakers.

Earlier I read a lament that Republicans have no legislative agenda — which is true, but shouldn’t be misread to mean they have no *partisan* agenda.

They want impunity for themselves, and unfettered oligarchy for the economy. They wreck government from the inside to further those goals.

I'm gonna be on repeat about this forever: What is especially dangerous about measles is that it can trigger immunity amnesia. From UCLA Health:

Thing is, by law (lol) specifically the government cannot lay off federal workers for partisan political reasons. Even probationary employees have this protection.
