They say nothing good comes from hate, but when I see artists hating on AI, it makes me immediately like them and want to check out their work.

We’re not small business owners, ffs - we’re independent contractors, and we are routinely robbed by the world’s dumbest dingbats.

@mollytanzer.bsky.social, they're playing your tune!
I think "class traitors" is up there with "idea landlords" on the reality disconnect scale.
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

Again, people have forgotten what it's like to get punched in the mouth for talking shit.

Class traitor, my ass! We were just talking about how none of us can fully afford to pay our bills with our labor, but now you want to deny artists that little bit too. Fuck all the way off!

Artwork is WORK!

Folks telling on themselves.

There are few words in English that get my blood agitated more than "Doorbuster." It's a foul compound that should've never been birthed!

It's absurd and frustrating that my kid's pediatrician's office felt the need to send this.

The providers at [City] Pediatrics support the clear statements from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the American Academy of Pediatrics that there "is no link between vaccines and autism."

I always seem to run across these things weeks after they're out, at the end of the relevant observation, but hey, it's never too late to read good books, amirite?

when the AI bubble bursts, remember your worth and how little regard they had for you when they let you go to save money.

I can't quote skeet @prisonculture.bsky.social's post, but when my first novel was published, the figure I heard was that 6% of working writers are able to support themselves through writing. Everyone else has a day job. Six books later I'm not at all surprised to hear that number has likely shrunk.

DISBAR! THEM!
Prosecutors in California used A.I. to argue that a 57-year-old man should be held without bail, his lawyers say, filing a brief that included wholesale misinterpretations of the law, as well as quotations that do not actually appear in the cited texts. nyti.ms/3M1bVye

Seeing the picture of RFK Jr. on the cover of The Atlantic, reminded me that news broke he authored some "erotic" "poetry". And now I am reminded that my curiosity does not align with my mental health at all times.

The Atlantic's cover editor as they slip into their comedically oversized clownshoes: "He should definitely be holding a rosary to really sell the science angle, don't you think?"

Editor in Chief: "Oh absolutely!" before squeezing his red ball nose and honking a bicycle horn.
Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?
