Our beautiful president has taxed the poor, sent troops to stomp through playgrounds in California, opened up concentration camps, doubled the price of seemingly random goods for no discernible reason, and bombed a foreign country just to do it. And yet these ungrateful peasants are unhappy?

In the imperial core, many of us are exhausted. Many of us are oppressed here. We gasp for our own lives as we struggle with our role in the empire's harm abroad & help people in unimaginably more desperate situations. But it's important to remember we do have a right to be well, not to hoard.

Authoritarians love "Gen AI" because it
- Sounds confident even when factually wrong
- Broadly conforms to & reproduces their biases, off the shelf
- Lets them create bespoke realities (text, audio, moving & still image) which agree w/ their biases
- Degrades trust in knowledge/evidence/expertise…

openai’s new ghibli “generator” is explicitly an intentional attempt at humiliation of a prominent objector

openai is culturally fascist as well as functionally fascist

it’s not an accident

OpenAI is using Studio Ghibli-style memes as an ad hoc promotional campaign for its new image generator—despite Ghibli founder Hayao Miyazaki's famous hatred of AI. Sam Altman made his X avatar a 'Ghiblified' portrait.

Disgracing Miyazaki is part of the point: It's more proof to them tech has won.
OpenAI's Studio Ghibli meme factory is an insult to art itself
Sam Altman is promoting his new image generator by appropriating the work of one of the greatest living animators—who is "disgusted" by AI.

Bingo. If you have views you consider "intellectually diverse," you can just say them. No one's stopping you. Turning it into a debate about the value of holding or expressing those views is just a waste of everyone's time
“intellectual diversity” is a calculated coinage by people aiming to smuggle unevidenced and hateful ideologies into public discourse by making us debate vague metadiscursive bullshit instead of talking about what should actually happen
