One of my conspiracy theories is that No Nut November was created in a political thinktank & that it's done tangible harm to the electorate

Everyone is getting upset about the data centers. They pollute a lot and use a lot of energy and will eventually be very ugly/huge vacant buildings. And I understand being mad about that. Until you consider the state of the lazer tag industry at this moment, and how much help that sector needs.

That guy has had nearly five years, three of which were congressionally supercharged, and a rational person would wonder why he still hasn’t made America great again.

I failed the fiction section of my M.A. finals and had to retake it because I’d written a marvelous essay that utterly failed to answer the question. It was fair, I was mortified, and I retook it - then passed, because I learned from the failure. Which is generally how it’s supposed to work, right?

That assignment isn't a religious freedom issue. You have to do the assignment. They didn't do the assignment. The feedback was incredibly generous and thorough, much more thorough than the assignment. This is about bending over backwards to the far right, not about religious freedom or anything.

A lot of transphobic whataboutism is just straight up trying to make being a bigot sound like a legit position asked in good faith.

Nope, same old horseshit.

On your deathbed, you will probably not be thinking, "at least I totally owned those trolls on social media," and if you are it's unlikely there will be anyone there to hold your hand as you go

Translation: Pete may well go down for this. But I’m not going with him.
Reporter: If there were a second strike that killed wounded people, would that be legal?

Trump: I don’t know that happened and Pete said he did not even know what people were talking about. I wouldn’t have wanted a second strike. The first strike was very lethal. It was fine.

One of the things about trust is that it is efficient. It saves you having to invest a lot of time and effort in verification, and if placed in the right places, saves you a lot of pain.

"The diseases will do the education" is what we get when we don't trust.

It's not just the higher-ups from Trump and Hegseth on down through the ranks as it went down the chain. The person who actually pulled the trigger is also properly on the hook for it. They had the same obvious, readily apparent duty to refuse as everyone above them did.
