The 12 year old theory is spot on because they’re trying to appeal to social media. They don’t care about appealing to voters so much as getting shared, and there’s a bunch of dumb, vicious adolescents who share way more than your typical 40-something.

I mainlined GTA for like 36 hours straight and when I went to drive the next day, traffic laws suddenly felt like a weird cultural construct. Like I didn't have trouble remembering to obey them, but it was suddenly clear that driving is a system we designed and not some inherent property of roads.
