Today is the four year anniversary of Starbucks Workers United unionizing its first store.

Since then, they've won over 650 union elections but Starbucks still hasn't negotiated a fair union contract.

Until then, don't cross the picket line. Show solidarity like Bernie and Zohran.

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Whenever someone tells me we should stop using the term "Christian nationalism" because it's too vague (it's not) and some folks use it as a slur (which I agree is wrong), I ask them what they think of the term "woke."

Invariably I find they don't really have a problem with vague slur terms.

Milk banks are not sufficient. The people who donate are donating their time and calories out of kindness and a desire for their labor to not go to waste. There is not enough excess milk to feed every child on formula — and not every child can drink breastmilk. Soy formula exists for good reason.
You do not need actual wet nursing and have not since the 1930s! The oldest breast milk bank in the world is still going www.imperial.nhs.uk/our-services... (though it relies on donors: I do see that the below quoted opens up some grim possibilities).

Among @nature.com’s 10 people who shaped science in 2025, Susan Monarez stands out. She was fired weeks into leading the #CDC after refusing political pressure to ignore evidence.

@jennifernuzzo.bsky.social notes no self-respecting scientist would rubber-stamp decisions without evidence.

Tax corporations so that those unable to work have a stipend to LIVE on, and enough extra to pay for assistive devices without going bankrupt!

Santa is a social construct

Social constructs are real

Therefore, Santa is technically real

You're welcome, fellow parents
Noticing a lot of other toddler parents going hard on telling their 3 and 4 year olds that "Santa is not real.". I get the impulse but I don't know: myth is pretty foundational to imagination? They need to be allowed to believe in things that are mysterious and perhaps a little bit dark.
