Y’all remember what didn’t happen when Biden was president? *Any* of this shit. Tariffs, war with Venezuela, masked secret police grabbing people off the streets, people about to lose food aid, health care premiums skyrocketing, none of this.

Kind of feels like a big deal that a Reform/Brexit Party former MEP has been convicted of taking bribes to promote Russian interests in Ukraine, and it feels like a bigger deal that this isn’t being treated as the major scandal that it clearly is.

Given everything that has happened on Twitter/X in the last 2 years it is astonishing that the govt hasn’t even reviewed its use of the platform
Oh, this is good: Lib Dem peer @markpackuk.bsky.social asked the Government "whether they have considered creating a Gov.uk account on Bluesky, and if so, when that consideration took place, and what the outcome was."

The answer reveals that Govt use of X hasn't been reviewed since April 2023...

Here’s the bottom line for what’s going on with Grok - if the owner of the website is putting his thumb on the scale hard enough for the chatbot to turn into Goebbels, you should be deeply concerned about what he’s doing to the algorithm that you can’t so easily see, and what it’s doing to you

OFAC paid my salary and that of several of my quite expensive developer collegues for the first year of my career, and that was just the tech side. It is most definitely a thing.
apropos of several other pieces of discourse: I know it may feel in many ways like nothing is real anymore, but it very much is, and particularly OFAC is very much a real thing that will send you to crime prison for a very long time
