I know the Larian thing was not particularly about voice acting but it does seem especially egregious to dive into AI bullshit when I’ve seen roughly 1000 videos of the Baldur’s Gate voice actors reading their favorite lines or doing Let’s Plays or generally being incredible ambassadors for the game

The whole inevitability angle is a lie because not only did people NOT LIKE 3D or Curved Televisions (PC monitors are a little different), we also didnt like that weird framerate THE HOBBIT was filmed on, Google Glass, the Virtual Boy, the Dreamcast, NFT's, Windows Vista, the list goes on!

This record low makes sense given the continued Xbox sales crash and PS5's 5th year, but lower Nintendo sales than last year despite SW2 launch is not great.

As an artist it has been pretty disheartening to see so many people gloss over the genAI issue here. Especially wild when it seemed like we had all also collectively agreed that the game awards is just a giant farce anyway.
E33 using Gen AI and winning GOTY doesn’t mean it’s ok now just like stealing and getting away with it doesn’t make stealing ok I feel like that should be obvious

Again I say: how fucking interesting that remote work technology is bad and not worth adopting despite all research pointing to productivity gains, but genAI which offers NOTHING is so important to adopt and force on people who have no use for it despite all the horrible things genAI does
