I've been talking about @armandauthor.bsky.social's Kickstarter recently (kck.st/4bBxNuJ). Here's another. Both authors are wildly creative and productive, and most of all, generous with their time. So, please back them, and share. They aren't asking for much. #WritingCommunity #Crime #Horror

Some lovely words from @mothfrenzy.bsky.social for Rat-She.
Gave me an excuse to start playing with graphics. And, as always, no AI involved in any of this. Book cover by me.

JUST OUT: Issue 172 of Philosophy Now looks at the Roman Philosophy, from Machiavelli’s take on the Roman Republic to Cicero’s ideal of virtus, Quintilian’s surprisingly modern educational insights, and Stoic reflections that still speak to how we live today. philosophynow.org

If of interest to anyone, I've shared (possibly temporarily) a talk I made for a Bronte course on adapting Wuthering Heights.

It's based on an earlier talk I gave called 'Adapting Heathcliff; or The Gothic has an Anti-Romani racism problem.'

It's an honour when you notice someone finishing one of your novels and immediately starting the next one, especially when you don't know them and have never interacted.

Sadly, this beautiful building no longer exists, but it did up until a few years ago. As a child I attended Brownies and Girl Guides here. There was a huge snooker hall upstairs, and an atmospheric library downstairs. I can still smell the place!👃

I write in all genres, but here's a a smattering of the comedy novels I hope to put out this year. No fixed dates, because when I do that, I almost always get hit by a metaphorical bus, and sometimes a literal one too. 😁

Immortelle had me wrapped in ceramics research, Mosaic in stained glass. It's not intentional, yet I often end up writing about arts and crafts.🎨
With my current novella WIP, it's all about woodcarving.😄

Last night we re-watched Blade Runner for the ???? time. One of my favourite settings is Sebastian the Toy Maker's apartment, a truly fascinating place. I would love to write a story based on it one day. Truly inspirational!

It's St Dwynwen's Day here in #Wales (our equivalent of St Valentine's Day), and it's finally stopped raining!
We'll be celebrating with a spooky church walk, a flask of tea, and a Tregroes chocolate waffle. They're the absolute best!😀❤️

Final round rejection from a much admired lit mag today that stated, '...there is much to admire in this piece...please know it came down to the wire.'
Shortlisted rejections are harder to swallow, but at least it shows you're on track. Don't give up, friends!
