OMG I love it. Now I'm going to have to do *another* rewatch of Season 3. (oh darn lol - will probably do it before Season 4)

Wait - does this create all the triangles, too? Like Keeley/Roy/Jamie, Colin/Trent/Issac... are there more?
celestefinally.bsky.social
woaaaaaahhhhhhhh 🤯

Things like Zava and Jack really bothered me the first time, but it was because I was worried the show was wasting time with them. On a rewatch, they're a lot shorter and are just plot devices for other characters to grow.

And the Amsterdam episode is a *gem*.

I've got one episode left in a rewatch of Ted Lasso (Seasons 1-3) and on this rewatch, I am *loving* season 3, which I originally had mixed feelings about. The negatives aren't around as long as I thought, and there's a *lot* of highlights (Sam, Colin/Trent/Issac, Nate, Keeley/Roy/Jamie, etc).

RIGHT?!?! And AOC has been out there doing her "Fight Oligarchy" thing, and Walz has been good, too, and and and... we have options, and again I say... we have more than two years, we do not need to coronate a winner right now. Let's make would-be candidates work for it!
celestefinally.bsky.social
(oh and I also voted in W v. Gore, but honestly don't feel confident characterizing Gore the candidate - I was 18 at the time and didn't know much)

In my voting life, the dems ran Kerry, HRC, Biden, Harris; all were perceived to be centrist liberals whose whole campaign was "I'm not the republican." Other than Biden 2020 which was a wild year, they all lost.

Obama was at least seen as "progressive" and won easily.

Why can't we learn this?

I'm thinking it might finally be time to do a reaction series to the witch trials of jk rowling podcast, though! I've been wanting to since it came out.
celestefinally.bsky.social
Agreed - I signed up for the free trial and then immediately cancelled, and then got through them before the trial period expired. but that still means I can't go back and listen to them again and, like you said, they're unsharable.

It does still look like he has until the end of the week to pass a bunch of LGBTQ+ protections, and I'll be calling him this afternoon to encourage him to do so. Still, the one veto is unconscionable already.
celestefinally.bsky.social
And they tell us that we literally have to support him without question *NOW*, when there's over two years until the primary and he hasn't even declared yet and primaries are literally about finding the best option and he is *NOT* it and I just want to scream.

I just got done listening to all of the @ifbookspod.bsky.social eps about her last week and it's hard to disagree with your take here.
celestefinally.bsky.social
Absolutely true. All my life I was told "it's a free country." And I know it never was, but my goodness - it's awful to see people with "freedom" bumper stickers cheering the demolition of those freedoms we did have.
celestefinally.bsky.social
If only...

But they seem to be focused on "talk therapy" not being "medical care" which has *far* reaching implications.

I was today years old when I learned she's queer 🤦‍♀️

Makes her throwing trans people under the bus even that much more of a betrayal.
celestefinally.bsky.social
omg yes.

Also I'm seeing somehow people missing that she was behind the horrible "Witch Trials of JK Rowling" podcast, in which it is argued something along the lines of "JK Rowling isn't transphobic, but if she was that'd be good."

If you can do nothing else, you must survive as your full, gorgeous, authentic, God-given queer self.

When you'd rather have a dead kid than a queer one, allowing conversion therapy practices makes total sense. They don't want to deal with a living queer kid; they want to mourn the imaginary one they don't have.

So SCOTUS apparently is going to say a state can ban care that is recommended by every major medical organization (gender-affirming care), but can't ban care that is condemned by every major medical organization (conversion therapy).

They're legally mandating/protecting medical malpractice.

Publishing at 7:30am Pacific time today (link in bio), I don't know what to call the emotion I'm trying to process with this, but the simple fact is that there are people with us today whose names will be on the list we read on November 20th.
"Trans day of (p)remembrance", subtitled "A short reflection on grieving those we will lose". Image is of a ghostly man walking along a trail in the woods.
