I'm sad to see a lot of artists I know saying it's super hard to get sales. And it really is. So I wanna promote them here again.

Go check them out and buy or tip them if you can. This is the non-US shops list but I'll post other lists as well.

I made a pack for non-US artists shops!
Let me know if you want to be added (with a shop link) or removed!

Decided to do #inktober belatedly & am catching up; so far am happiest with the very first prompt
My fingers hold open a very small notebook. The top of the page reads “October 1: Mustache”, and below that is a drawing in black ink of a sheet-ghost holding up a costume mustache to its face, looking to the left of the frame. I think he’s really cute.
I can now write you letters addressed as Murakami? 😇

I stand on its edge and hold out my palm.

A plum—blood red and dewy—falls into my hand from the sky."

Ginger-molasses cookies complete! These are crisp on the edges, chewy in the middle, crinkly on top. I baked half of them today and put the other half of the dough into the fridge so we can have fresh baked cookies *again* later this weekend.

Cooling rack with a closeup on a very large, golden brown, lightly crinkled on top cookie. Portions of several surrounding cookies are also visible.
That can be the author photo in your next book, regardless of genre/topic 😇
Go go go! (Good luck.) (Looks yummy.)

Since it's Black Speculative Fiction Month, I thought I'd share a story I love by a Black author each day. Since I'm starting 10 days in, I'll post a bunch to catch up. I'm going to do 15 from the Top 80 of Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy and 15 from Lightspeed/Nightmare.

Did you know I wrote a book about the origins of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, console RPGs, and their rise to success in North America?

This time we last year we published Amy Salley's still-sadly-relevant essay about redemption arcs in fiction and real life...

Read it here:
www.speculativeinsight.com/essays/the-redemption-arc
Purple background, white text, which says Why do we love redemption in a story but have no patience for it in real life? Perhaps it's because the moral universe in a story is smaller and less complex. Or perhaps we're focusing on the wrong redemption. Perhaps... the read redemption arc was the friends we made along the way. "The Redemption Arc" -- Amy Salley

Day 2! Find the Simon & Schuster booth (#3409) at #NYCC and whisper today's secret word for a chance at one of two copies of YEAR OF THE MER being given out today.
ARC Giveaway Day 2 Secret Word: TRIDENT
Excerpt: The gates of Beverre were marked by a towering alabaster
statue of a Mer king with a trident. He was bald, the rolling
waves tattooed on his skull vaguely outlined. His prominent brow
gave way to deep, hooded eyes and a stern expression. Lanyards of
sun-bleached shells draped over his broad and chiseled torso. Yemi
recognized him as her great-grandfather.
