STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time.

Any shop caught doing this before 1st December must be shut down and turned into affordable housing.

“Because people complained about food prices when food prices were stable but car prices were high, we can presume that they actually meant to complain about car prices” is not really sound logic. Another, better explanation is that people can be mad about problems that aren’t real.

it is not dems blocking the troops getting paid
paleofuture.bsky.social
I expect that “should the troops get paid” is something most Americans would support if you polled it without any context.

The average American doesn’t give a shit how something happens, they just want good things to happen, however they define that.

Elected Dems haven’t adjusted to that reality.

I’m not sure there ever been an investigation more robustly proven valid than the first Trump impeachment. Did he use presidential power for his personal gain? Uh, yeah! I think he probably did!

I'm just one monastery, and my programming needs are somewhat unusual (procedurally building and testing plausible names of god using a custom set of glyphs). But I'm just not seeing the consistent productivity gains from LLMs I would have expected if you'd asked me six months ago.

A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.

It’s bonkers. Like say what you will about Andrew Carnegie but after getting wealthy beyond compare he built libraries. Thiel and Musk and Ellison have been like “what if we restored the third reich? what if I became Big Brother? what if we ushered in an age of superstition, wouldn’t that be neat”

I want 10,000 words longform on how these drug-addled creeps have all openly embraced literal villainy. Like, the most clownish form of "I want to look evil." This feels different than a lot of their historical predecessors!

the agency itselt should be bureaucratically re-arranged in a way that allows us to effectively abolish it in its current form without explicitly doing it in a way that makes us politically vulnerable. call it the “homeland protection enhancement” bill or something
opinionhaver.bsky.social
Yeah I think people here have unrealistic expectations for like jailing all ICE agents and that’s just almost certainly not going to happen even in extremely cool zone scenarios. But they should 100% have to lie for the rest of their lives about their employment history in conversation with everyone
kenwhite.bsky.social
Also: if you work for ICE, even if you’re not one of the ones arresting citizens or tackling 15-year-olds or zip-tying kids together and segregating them by race, you’re part of the mechanism making it happen, and you should suffer long-term social and post-regime-change consequences.

MAGA is failing and flailing, but that doesn't make them harmless - I fear they will be even more immediately destructive in failure than success.
