Provincial and federal governments fighting each other over who can shovel money to a dying industry faster. At this rate our taxes are going to end up paying for another (at least) $50 B pipeline, $130B to clean up of old oil wells, and $300B to clean up tailings ponds from the oil sands. #AbLeg
Carney's "grand" bargain - the feds support a pipeline if Alberta provides even more subsidies for carbon capture - is a win-win for wealthy oil and gas CEOs, but no one else.

Important reminder: The legislation was originally crafted to get rid of progressive politicians like Calgary mayor Jyoti Gondek. There was even a campaign on it and, when it failed, they moved the goalposts to make it easier. They’re squirming because they never thought it’d be used against them.
